So the next time I can score the latest lipstick from cover girl for free after clipping coupons that goes in Hot Deals?

YAY! Catergories are up! Not sure about Rebates by mail....now that I think about it...

What is the deal with Weekly Sales and In Store Promos?

N/m in store promotions (may need a better name) wine tags, tear pad offers, and running store reward type deals.

That is my dilemma. We need to be consistent on what is here, and what is in HD.

Should weekly sales be called "Ad Scans", and in store promo is the name you gave to tear pads, wine tags, and the like.

i changed my mind

Well I would prefer that cosmetics go here since most that are purchased with coupons are from Drug stores or Target, etc. Walgreens runs cosmetics specials all the time and includes in their easy saver books - kind of confusing to try and split. If twice a year someone posts the Clinique bonus specials from a higher end Department store in HD, just leave it over there.

Plus an item that is a 'cosmetic' to you may be a 'necessity' for me!

I would agree that non food items like cosmetics, razors et all should go here as well. Those are often some of the best couponing deals and usually purchased at grocery or drug stores. Splitting stuff like that would get confusing.

While I do play the coupon game (although I scaled back on my couponing behavior), I was not born in the US and my body reacts strongly against the processed food I put in it. There's also the high fructose problem I am facing, generally the sugar soft drinks can only be found in ethnic grocery stores, on occasions (e.g. Passover Coke) or during promotions (like the 30% off Havana bevs Amazon is having this month) for reasonable prices.
I'd like to get deals on "safe food" (not necessarily the same with organic food) which are generally much more pricey than the regular processed food. Granted, sometimes the safe food is three times healthier and more nutritious than the layman's cheapo fluffy Wal*mart bread smelling of yeast. I am thinking of grocery items that are in the US generally labeled as "gourmet food" and sold at a premium, but it's in fact normal food. Could be European food, or Asian food, or whatever (but not the Asian-American food). It could even be American ethnic food, of that type which falls into oblivion due to the prevalence of fast-food restaurants all over the place (Cajun food comes into mind, but it's not the only one), although it is generally healthy and has tradition (ask your grandparents).

So my point is: can we have a recurring thread for this? I mean: highlighting the fact that certain foods are "safe", pointing to the deals that appear on these, and generally providing a continuity in the interest for "better" food.

I am offering myself to organize the thread and update it periodically. Feel free to discuss on this thread, another one made for this purpose or to PM me about this idea.
Thank you!

Since you define"safe" in a different way then everyone else a thread specifically for foods you like to me particularly one that is stickied at the top is just clutter. Why don't you set up some searches for keywords that hit you definition of "safe" Your definition implies that other foods are unsafe not just that you have a picky diet. This seems like an individual issue not a group issue. I understand and respect that you hate fructose but that does not make it unsafe for the average person.

That's for sure. Aspartame is unsafe for me, but not for many others. Don't forget the people who can't have peanuts or strawberries.

I won't go that far as to look for fenilalanine-free foods, although some specific diet-oriented information would help the people. Let's just say I have an European stomach, the parallel with the beer is helpful here: you may not agree with me that Budweiser, Miller and Coors are not real beers, but there is a definite population segment that shares the same thought with me. Plus the digestion issues.
The worst deals (not necessary in the financial sense) I can find here would be a BOGO Domino's or free Totinos coupons.

suggestion: retitle to include Drugstore coupons and deals. I thought the Walgreens ads were in Deal discussion, but either they've evaporated completely or you've stuffed them here. I only entered this forum because a thread that I was interested in was moved here.

To me, "grocery" means "food" and it did not occur to me that you would include all other sorts of retail stores in this forum (Drugstore, hardware are 2 I've seen mentioned).

Noted, I'll bring that up in the meeting today.

This brings up a good point.... what would you all want the forum called. I am putting in a project to split online deals from B&M deals. So online deals would go in HD under "online grocery deals", and there would be a links under grocery/health and beauty pointing here. This would leave this forum drug store/grocery related B&M deals.

Is this what people want, what name do you suggest? Grocery & Drugstore Coupons?
