1. If your grocery store doubles coupons up to $.60, the $.55 coupon is slightly better.
2. I used to do this a while ago. I will never, ever, eat Totino's Pizza Rolls again.

I've never ever once in my life seen a store that doubles coupons. Is this some form of unadvertised promotion or something?

It is advertised, you just have to ask in the store or read their leaflets valid for that specific store. Generally it depends from store to store, especially on the presence of competition nearby. In my part of the world, Bi-Lo and Ingles have this feature. But there are definitely others. There's a hitch: some coupons have the following verbiage on them: "Not subject to doubling or tripling".
Just check any respectable/established coupon forum for details.

Usually a store that doubles/triples makes it known to the world. I know the two stores in my area that do it (Kroger & Albertson's) get a lot of additional business because of it, so they're gonna make sure people know it.

I don't have kroger or albertsons here. Though I do have "Jewel" which I hear is the same as albertsons. Never once seen that advertised. I'll have to ask around.
