Just want to let you all know next week is another no-ecbx week here in CA!

Week starting 5/31 should see the return of extrabucks deals, same as the rest of the country.

Another hidden deal that works in CA:

Look for Caress Glowing Touch BW clearanced at $2.9, buy 2, use 2 x $1 off MfQ from last Sunday's RP insert, get back $2 ecbx. If you also have $2 off 2 BW, or $3 off 2 BW crt, or any x/xx cvs coupons, they can be free or better.

Also, if you like Nivea products, there are a number of them on 50%, and if you buy $15 of Nivea, you'll get $5 ecbx. I believe you can do this 5 times.

Look for special display in store. You can probably find lots of coupons and bonus packs (some of them are 50% off as well, and also included in the ecb deal)

I'm not sure when this deal will end since it's not advertised. Same goes for the Caress deal. So if you're interested, better do it ASAP.

Thanks. I have $12 ECB expires today. I already made a round to CVS last night and couldn't find anything to buy. I will go to the one has best clearance section today to spend my ECB, one way or another.

Included and handwritten on a form was "your meter was free". There was nothing on the form that indicated that coupons would be deducted and there is no phone number on the form to contact them. I will be contacting CVS corporate about this.
Thanks for the update.
So I got email back from CVS saying that that the rejection was correct, and even though it did not say anything on the form, I was not entitled to it because I used Extracare Bucks. They did ask for my Extracare card number and the person offered to put a coupon (of unspecified amount) on it. I wrote back and told them that I couldn't believe they were telling me that the rebate form said nothing about this restriction, and that if I bought any other product with my Extracare Bucks, I would have no problem getting the rebate and it should be no different with this product. I then gave them my address and told them to send me the check I was due . I got a phone call today from the people who process the rebate, saying that they were mailing me a check today, even gave me the check number. I guess my email struck a chord, maybe it was the part where I told them that they couldn't start making up rules as they went along (also pointed out that I was not the only person they'd be hearing about on this, someone on HCW said they had the same issue).

Anyway, it turned out ok for me but I would not suggest buying the CVS brand meters with Extracare Bucks in the future.

I'm with you regarding Walgreens. Since they did away with EasySaver monthly booklet, I rarely if ever go there. They do have Register Rewards, similar to ECBs, but you can't roll RRs on the same item and get RR on that purchase. Plus, RRs are only good for 2 weeks!! I can't imagine that Walgreens is doing as much business as they used to when they had the EasySaver monthly booklet.

Deleted duplicate post.

I agree with billrubin on this. The key seems to be "return without receipt." This is what a supervisor told a clerk once when I had a return that involved payment with ECBs. Doing a "return without receipt" enabled them to give me a full refund.

To me, it's totally bogus for any CVS to try to deny you some sort of full refund when you pay with ECBs since ECBs are like money.

Lately, I have pretty much stopped paying attention to the CVS and WAGS ads since most of the good deals are either WAGS RRs or CVS ECBs. All they do is force you to go back to the store and buy more stuff. That's fine if you need the stuff but right now, we have enough free toothpaste, etc. Kudos to the coupon sites that tell you how to get tons of free stuff at WAGS and CVS and build a huge stockpile. They are great but I'm kind of burned out on doing that right now, especially since Walgreens did away with EasySaver rebates and ESV coupons. RRs are OK but they are only good for two weeks from date of purchase and there's a lot of stuff you cannot use them to buy.

agreed on being penalized for the ECB's...THEY ARE YOURS, not the manufacturer. If you choose to spend them on an item and submit a rebate, YOU DID NOT GET IT FREE. You used the value of an ECB towards it which was cash paid in the first place to get the ECB to print out (i.e. toothpaste, deordorant, etc).

As for the RR program, Walgreens RR's are good for two weeks and can be used on practical everyday items if you don't want more toothpaste. I often use them to buy groceries like milk, nuts. household cleaners/garbage bags, etc. (on sale of course). Wags sale prices are as good or better than the supermarket at times, so I have no qualms using RR's to purchase these items just to make sure they get used. But to each their own I guess.

I agree with Mr. C on both counts. RRs are fine and are good for most everything in the store except stamps, lottery tickets, etc. It would be NICE if they were good for more than 2 weeks. But, I still miss the EasySaver booklet. That's what typically incented me to go to WAGS.

Seeing as how the original email from CVS used the word "promotion" when referring to ECB's, it made me realize that CVS sees ECB as rewards for buying an item. We really see them as psudo-rebates, to be used like cash towards a future purchase. Fortunately they did not choose to make that argument.

did you call 1-800-shop-cvs and press the number for extra care program and speak to a rep???
They are usually pretty good--one of my customers called due to the fact they forgot and they were re-instated the nest purchase--you have to make sure to use them every quarter.

Who were you replying to?

This thread reminds me that I need to scan my old and new EC cards and see if anything prints for the quarter.

Thanks! Great deal.

I went to use my cvs card yesterday and they said that they don't recognize ecb on the card that I had to have each individual reciept to use them. Has anyone else had this problem? Seems to me that it should show up when they scan the card.

They have never showed up just by presenting your card. You have to have the physical coupons that print with your receipt.
