Thanks for the heads up! Great week! Wags is the only place I've been getting deals for the last couple weeks, back in August, I was hitting CVS and RiteAid too, but they haven't had anything worth going for these last few weeks.

totally disagree on Rite Aid. Gift of Savings going on right now, see thread in Hot Deals. $25 in Free stuff ar/ac's this week and counts towards GOS spend.

Thanks!

Thanks! I love it when there are coupons for the free stuff!

I have register rewards from this week when I bought thermacare. Can I combine 2 RR for one item ? So If I wanted to buy the Vaseline Sheer Infusion Lotion can I use 2 of my $2.50 RR ?

Thanks.

Usually, the total number of coupons, including RRs, can't exceed the number of items you are purchasing. That is usually stated on the small print of the RR. It could be YMMV, as some stores will let you use more coupons and some stores try to limit use of RR to one per purchase.

easy fix is to find a really cheap item, like a .10 pencil on clearance from back to school. if you buy an $8 bottle of shampoo and a .10 pencil, you can then hand in two RR's to cover the shampoo cost.

Thank you so much. This is what I'll do. 3 $2.50 RR = $7.50. Lotion + 2 cheap fillers should help cover the cost.

I just printed this coupon, and unfortunately, it specifically excludes the To Go 2 count product.

Thanks OP and yoregano.

Are these valid at midnight?

Emergen-C coupon is for a box of single serve packs. The items on sale are single serve bottles. The coupon might have worked; I never tried.

Also, the toothbrush didn't print out a RR coupon. This was in WA state and I bought the soft brush. Didn't try the medium brush.

Everything else was bueno.

it excludes it, but does scan just fine. so YMMV on using.

Yeah....I printed mine before I read that post but used it anyway and it scanned with no problem.

the Theraflu coupon is not working anymore =/

civichick02 said: the Theraflu coupon is not working anymore =/

not the manu q, but the Walgreens store coupon for $2 off is working. that still makes it free a/rr.

oops yeah I meant the online manf. coupon

you forgot the Oral-B Advantage 1-2-3 Toothbrush. it is FREE after RR

Ok so these are not really free?

Used to be Walgreens had some things each month that were truly free. You would purchase them - send in a coupon slip - and you would receive a check to cover the full purchase price. This check can be cashed. This is free stuff.

Have they changed it to Register Rewards ("rr")? Meaning buy a product and get a printout that represents cash value to purchase more stuff? Can "rr" be cashed like a check? If not then this then isn't truly free. You just get more stuff free. Not bad - but not as nice as getting a check that can be cashed.

Yes but you can buy more than one item if it's really something that you use.

Can "rr" be used to purchase things like postal stamps?

They are "free after RR" or money markers "after RR". Don't cut the term short just to complain. If you don't like it or disagree, then don't do it...

Just trying to get clarification.

And if they are register rewards - then the item is not truly free - no?

The old way Walgreens worked:

Buy $20 of free after rebate stuff - and get a check for $20 - no need to purchase anything else - Net = $0

In fact if you wanted to add it to a Walgreens card to be used in store - you would get an extra 10%.

The new way - i.e. register rewards:

Buy $20 of stuff - get a printout for $20 to used for more stuff (that is you you need more stuff) - Net = $20 with $20 of more free stuff.

I like the old way. Though I realize why Walgreens changed their policy - they effectively sell $40 of stuff for $20. The old way they gave stuff away with possibly no additional purchase to be made.

Hmm... I can complain like you! Ohhh my gossshhhh the old way SUCKED. I had to spend 30+ cents just to get my check!! what a rip off. If they want it to be truly free they need to reimburse my stamp otherwise my stuff isn't really free!

Dude, just be happy you're getting something for free with very minimal effort. There is almost no out of pocket cost this way. You buy item A, get an RR. Use A's RR to buy B, use B's to buy C and so on. I usually walk out of the store with $20+ in items, but only a dollar or two ever coming out of my pocket.

Thanks OP.

Another money maker for this week is Gillette MVP manual or Power razor. It is $8.99. In this sunday's P&G insert, there is a $4 coupon for the rzor and it prints $6 in RR.

Like I said, if you don't like it don't do it. You ALWAYS need more stuff. If you know how to play the RR game (as msJAP explains), then it's not an issue.

I have never done this before so I have a couple questions.

When you purchase A you get A's RR. What happens if A's RR is greater than the price of B? Do they refund the difference?
(or such as when you purchase A with A's RR + coupon, then there is a difference)

Can you buy A and B in one transaction and get both A's and B's RR or do you only get A's RR?

Can you grab a pile of A and just check out each A one at a time and load up with the product for the price of one?

Thanks for the information.

Thanks OP, I rolled rewards today to get about $50 worth of stuff for net $3. Made money with the $1.50 off Vaseline coupon (printable), $4.00 off Fusion razor (Sunday paper), $1.00 off DenTek floss picks (printable), $1.00 off Herbal Essences (Sunday paper), $2 off both of 2 Theraflu (Walgreens printable, probably could have stacked with bricks printable from OP), $.75 off Oral B tooth brush (Sunday paper).

The store I visited actually had $2 RR on all DenTek floss picks so I made $1 on a bag of 90.

LetsGoMets1 said: Yeah....I printed mine before I read that post but used it anyway and it scanned with no problem.

Do the coupons need to be color prints or is black and white sufficient?

These coupons are legitimately printable? The Emergen-C for instance says on it that "reproduction of this coupon is expressly prohibited."

Thanks,
Bryan

1. They don't refund the difference. Just grab something small like a pencil or candy bar to make up the difference.

2. If you buy A & B at the same time you get both RRs

3. You used to be able to get several of the same free after RR items by just doing a series of seperate transfactions one after the other. Now when you get an RR for item A, you can use it for ANYTHING but item A.

Does this scenario work?

Item A - Oral-B Advantage 1-2-3 Toothbrush ($3), Receive $3 RR FREE AFTER REGISTER REWARDS
Item B - Chapstick Fresh Effects ($2.99), Receive $2.99 RR FREE AFTER REGISTER REWARDS

I buy item A, and use A's RR to buy item B. I can then use B's RR to buy A... rinse and repeat?

Usually black and white coupons are not a problem, some internet coupons explicitly say "coupon can appear in color or black and white." Go for color if you can print color.

The item in the Emergen-C coupon and the item qualifying for RR are the same brand but different products. The coupon is for a 30 serving or larger box of Emergen-C, a Vitamin C and energy supplement and the Walgreens item is a 2-serving liquid energy booster. If they don't pay attention to the coupon you may be able to use it but I didn't bother to try. If you're going to make a lot of transactions, you don't want the sales clerks to give you a hard time for using a bogus coupon.
