I normally don't post local deals, but considering how expensive groceries are in Manhattan, I wanted to make sure my fellow NYC FW'ers were aware of the sale this week at D'Agostino as there are some outstanding deals until Wednesday.

The full circular is on their site at www.dagnyc.com, but here are a few of the highlights (in my view at least):

Boneless chicken cutlets - $1.50 a pound
Coke products (my store had Coke, Sprite and Dr. Pepper, regular and diet) - $0.59 for a 2-liter
Martin's Whole Wheat Potato Bread - $1.59
Haagen Dasz Pints (everything but Reserve) - 2 for $3.00 (regular $5.49 each)
Barilla Pasta - $0.99 a box
Hanover Gold Line frozen vegetables - 3 for $5.00
Deli combo (half-pound meat + half-pound cheese) - $2.99 (I got Angus Roast Beef, regularly $12.99 a pound and American Cheese, regularly $7.99 a pound, but there are other options)

I usually buy my fresh produce at the Union Square Market, so I didn't look at the fruit / veg deals, but there are probably some good ones there too. My quick trip would've cost a little under $80 at regular prices (did some stocking up on a few of the better deals like the chicken breast and Barilla) and came in at $37...savings was about 52%. Not all the deals were great (hot / lean pockets @ 2 for $5.00 is the normal sale price) but some of the deals were far better than they usually are and I wanted to share. Hope this can help some others...

They can afford to slash their prices given all the money they make selling "managers gone wild" DVDs on late night infomercials.
