Quality Liquors, on Gedney Street in Salem, Mass, is a unsung GEM.
It is a family owned Liquor Store, and at first glance would seem to be nothing unusual. But it is - the Prices are consistently lower than just about anywhere in the area. (BTW, I am affiliated in NO WAY whatever with this establishment).
But that's NOT the whole story. The Purchasing Agent always keeps an eye out for bargains, and often scores !
His latest victory is Wedmer Brothers Original Drifter Pale Ale at $3.58 a six pack. It is brewed thousands of miles distant, in Portland, Oregon, and is absolutely delicious !
I never heard of it before, but scored a case this evening. I love it ! They have probably a dozen cases on the floor as of this evening. I'm heading back tomorrow for another (or two)!

Thanks, I'll check them out next time I'm visiting the 'rents. Thought I haven't bought beer in Salem since I was 18 and Steve's Quality Mart the place to score your favorite beverages.
Glad to see all the Halloween revelers didn't pick it all up.....
The Widmer Brothers Drifter Pale Ale I believe is now being brewed in Portsmouth since they're part of the Craft Brewers Alliance, which Red Hook is a part of. I used to go to Quality Liquors a bunch and didn't find them to be anything that special.

If you know somewhere local that is cheaper, I am VERY interested.
I frequent Kappy's, Merchant's, Costco, and BJ's. They all are good. But they don't have the drop-dead deals Quality Liquors occasionally offers.
Where do you shop ?
(Like I said, I'm not married to Quality Liquors. If there is somewhere that offers better deals I'm there !)
