People seem to be selling them for about $480, so this is a pretty good deal. I haven't bought from Center Fire Systems before, but people on ar15.com seem positive. The gun is getting good reviews. See: http://www.m1911.org/ezine/RIATactical.htm

Awesome pistol. I got one a few weeks ago, and it is worth every penny (and more). Great price too, green for you.

What is with the .... in the weblink. It doesn't work. What is it a virus link or something? Hey Fatwallet don't you check these links before posting? Even when you take them out it says page not found

Looks like a bad copy and paste. Fixed: http://www.centerfiresystems.com/AC-RI1911TACA.aspx

Is this gun humor? "reload" the page?

Sorry the link didn't work.

Be aware, there's some nickle and diming going on when you purchase:

Our everyday prices reflect a 3% cash savings not available on credit or debit card orders.
A charge of $3.50 for an Adult Signature is required on any order which includes a firearm.

So, tack another $16 or so on to the base cost.

Is there somewhere they ship to that can receive a gun without an FFL? I'd check but the site is blocked at work.

You legally need to have an FFL to receive a gun in the mail. Just talk to your local gun shop and they can take shipment of it for you for a nominal fee ($15-25).

I actually found this cheaper at Sarco. Here is the link. http://e-sarcoinc.com/pist-rockisltacticalm911a145pistol.aspx

Rock Island?

That used to be a government armory here in the USA, right?

Are these Philippines-made guns any good? I remember reading about the Spanish American War, and early WWII, and how the US Military came to love the .45 ACP in battle in the Philippines just like the locals loved it. Always better in battle than in non-real-world testing.

Not quite. That was Rock Island Arsenal. This is Rock Island Armory.
They are manufactured by Armscorp of the Philippines.

I wish it was that cheap in California. Its $50 - $80 the last time I checked.

I'm waiting for Remington's 1911 R1 coming out next month for msrp of $699, should be had for a little over $600. Made in the USA (Ilion,NY plant)!!
