You can download and use apps from the market but android didn't make this device. It just has android operating system.

If by android you mean google, then that applies to all android devices in the world. As google doesn't make any android devices, but only maintains the open source OS called android.
HTC, Motorola, and Samsung are the biggest manufacturers of android devices.
This is most likely some cheap ass hardware put together by random chinese shop with some random fork of the open source android release. It's cheap, but I bet it'll have crappy perf and integration issues.
The video review looks interesting, but I think the guy is trying to downplay how slow it is to respond to scroll commands. And loading web pages. The screen clearly has a bit of a glare issue. However, for the price, it is quite capable.
It looks decent, it would be great if someone made a 2.1 rom for it. As far as the scrolling and web pages, if you have never used android, thats just how it is when it is still loading the page on a device without the snapdragon processor. I'm sure setcpu would help it out a little bit in that area. For $100 its not a bad buy really, and you could use it with fring to make calls if you have wifi available.

Actually, you won't be able to download apps from the marketplace (backed up by the FAQ Reminor posted below). I believe that Google has stated that the App Store will not be supported with devices that aren't cell phones (at this time). I'm sure in the future Android tablets will have their own market. Additionally, I believe Google has to approve devices for access to the app store. I don't think that's a rigorous process, I think it's more of a "hey manufacturer's, you gotta register your devices if you want in the store" type of deal.
Honestly, it's $100 and it'll take a month to ship to you. By that time, there will probably be much better options (read capacitive screens, maybe a bit more oomph), available domestically, for $200. I love Android and DX, but this is a half baked device (rushed to the market...look at all the complaints about it being picky with memory cards and chargers) with 3 hours battery life and less horsepower than half the Android phones on the market right now. A used G1 off of Craigslist for $100 would probably be a better option...
saw this the other day, good pricing, but I don't think the hardware used is sufficient to keep up with the software. Perhaps they'll do better with the next model.
for $100 ill give it a whirl. seems like root and custom roms have already been started so if they make it as functional as my mytouch with a bigger screen would be nice for some couch surfing/email/ebook...

Don't get me wrong but aren't just about all our mainstream electronics made in some random chinese shop, oh wait my laptop was made in Malaysia my bad.
Very cool little toy. Might give it a try - can't beat the price, although being able to upgrade the battery would make it much better. Maybe it can be done.

How well it sells will help. There is already a forum on the device, the more users the more hackable it becomes. If custom roms start popping up, watch out.

because DX likes to sell a lot of them. I'd be wary, too. Still tempted to try it. You missed the spammer, and I didn't want to quote him. The mods already deleted his posts.
You're comparing iPhone to iPad almost an orange to Apple. The reason I looking into this is my iphone screen a little small for my wife internet viewing. For $108 it's very attractive.

i would be very skeptical of buying anything expensive from DealExtreme. They do not have any sort of guarantee whatsoever and if the product does not reach you, you are on your own.
