Sorry about that, looks like specs for the Samsung at BestBuy are incorrect. Fixed now thanks!

which one would be best for video editing. i've been having slow issues with a dual core when editing HD vids from a t1i. is the i7 from a notebook different from the i7 labeled on desktops?
Sieng said: Can anyone explain this? I cannot seem to get the price for the Dell Vostro. It shows up as $545 starting price. Thanks
You might try clearing your cookies, as it will log you back into the Dell division (Home vs SmallBusiness) you were last at. This deal is for DellSmallBusiness. If you are still having trouble, feel free to PM me.
I am looking for small laptop up to 14 inch with best efficiency/battery life and not high price. Acer AS1410 is only one I see. Can anyone suggest others? I love Toshiba, but their battery life is bad. I don't know if that points to not being very efficient, or their batteries just terrible.
Hmmm, this like the 3rd time that Asus gaming laptop has been posted. It's been tempting EVERY time. Time to upgrade? $1200 would be a big hit, but Core I7, yum! I imagane it's blow my 2.0Ghz dual core Asus G51VX gaming laptop out of the water. Decisions, decisions ....

I suggest taking a look at Toms Hardware Guide--they have an extensive list of benchmarks for these processors.
I have been looking at a new laptop, got a email this morning for acer, what do the laptop experts think? Reviews I have read so far look great. Any coupons for computers available to make this even a sweeter deal?

DO IT!
I splurged a bit and treated myself on this one a few weeks back. Dynamite Machine! also has the two year warranty w/one year accidental and that extends an additional year if you register within 60 days. At the time a $20 coupon was available and the egg accepted bing c/b so it was about $1140 all said and done. This was replacing my XPS GEN 2 that i shudder to think the cost of 5yrs ago...
anyway, it lists the RAM mhz at 1066 when it's actually 1333. Some complaints i have read on the video card, but seems solid thus far. Does get a bit hot, but what to expect? at least it has a good design that vents hot air out the side rather than underneath.
All in all, Similarly equipped machines are hundreds more and may not have the resolution nor the extra year warranty + accidental coverage

Added this deal to the Roundup with coupon code "96469" provided by MISTERCHEAP, for a total of $549.98 with free shipping. Thanks dennisspeaks & uutxs!
UUTXS, yes I received that with the offer which brings it down to $549, I don't think you can beat that for a I5 processor. Went to Staples today, seems like a pretty decent machine. I am tired of HP so looking to switch brands, haven't had acer for 17 years. Anyone else tips or advice on this laptop?
I jumped on the Acer AS5741-6073. I was looking at the compaq for a cheap laptop for my little guy, but the premium for this was too little to compromise. I used Discover Staple gift cards to lower the price 20% plus the $50 coupon. Could not pass on the FAR printer.
wizwor said: Celo, that is my favorite netbook, but after using an AS1410 ($400) for four months, I would not get a netbook. Too little computer.
It is for my mom but that is also my worry. So, you are saying even 11.6 inch is not big enough or you are saying 11.6 inch is the smallest you would go?
No. I like the 11.6" form. The as1410 is not technically a netbook -- it has 2g of ram, full win7, and a bigger screen. What I should have said was that I love the as1410 and would not settle for a netbook after using this 'tweener' for four months.

Just got back from Best Buy. 10.1 is TINY. I do not think I would buy her that. They had no 11.6 so, I could not compare but I think that would be the way to go. The screen of the netbooks are hideous! The bezel is too thick and it looks like the old time monitors. Then I thought maybe an iPad for her??? She is not too good with computers (I am sure she would get better once she starts using them) but she is good with her iPhone, so maybe I should go that route. Yes, iPad has a smaller screen but it looks/feels bigger.
