I just saw on TV. Comcast is offering Digital Starter Cable TV and Free HBO for 3 months for $29.99/mo for 12 months. No contract. Sounds like a good offer. I live in the bay area.

Online at Comcast there is this offer...
Digital Starter - Special Offer ONLINE EXCLUSIVE FOR NEW SUBSCRIBERS: Sign-up for Digital Starter today!
Special Offer! $29.99 per month for the first 6 months
$62.75 per month after promotional period(s)
Over 80 digital cable channels. Access to thousands of movies and shows each month–most free–ready to play as you please with On Demand. 45 commercial-free music channels, from Top 40 to classical to hip-hop. Local programming and all the popular cable channels. Easy parental controls that help keep your family safe. On-screen program guide.
When I went to the Comcast office they offered a $45 new customer rate for a limited period.
I just called Comcast and the Bay Area offer is regional. There probably was a dedicated phone number to call for that $29 offer. Nation wide, the phone rep can offer the $45 / 6 mo Digital Starter just like the local office.
In general, the Comcast CS reps have a prime directive to sell only the $99 triply play package.
If anyone can find a $29 12 mo offer Digital Starter good in ever Comcast location, please share.

In houston, I just signed up for basic cable and the 15 mbps for $29.99/ month for 1 year. Already have dish, did it just for the internet. What speed is this? Also, if your a Comcast customer, you can cancel, sign up with somebody elses name on the account and you'll qualify for the new customer promotions. They'll just charge you a $30.00 reconnect fee. It just might be worth it if the credit score can take a check...considering how much they go up on rates after the promotional period.

Watch out for the extra charges (Houston and assumed fraud advertising everywhere in the US). I got the promotion and it said "no extra fee" which was a lie. Still have it to contest but no one to contest it to.
Installation fee : $50 Reconnection Fee : $30 @##$ Protection fee : $3 / month (Here Comcast as a Monopoly Mafia. I told them the day the equipment die is the day I discontinue service) Cable modem fee : $5 / month. Highly recommend a used modem instead of this fee. I found one for $3 used. I can do it myself w/o technician needed. Basic TV service FEE (or something similiar to it: $4 / month.
So before sign up, tell the rep to get these fees off (the installer wont show you b4 hand they handed to you after installed so you cant refuse), my first bill come out to $125. Tried to argue with them but no good-They said either you paid it or you'll get bad credit-they will let you make partial payment but what they dont tell you is that they charge you $8 everymonth you have a balance even a $.01. That is a $8/$30 ~25% a month or ~ 300% a year and they say credit card rate is too high.
Dawn Comcast who recently deservedly win the award "Worst company in the US"
