I mostly hate it when people post deal after deal that is only a deal because you are using CashBack, but I think this one deserves its own post. I think it is about as cheap a 50" plasma as you will find; this plasma is made by LG and is a slightly watered-down version of their 50PJ350 model.
In-Store pickup price for me with tax will be right at $575 after tax.

There are instructions on how to get the 15% bing at Sears in another hot deal here.
ps--my parents purchased this and I was pleasantly surprised....not 1080p but I LOVE the aesthetics of the TV (piano black glossy finish, no speakers on side) and the picture is very good....

Unfortunately for me it's not the other day.

1024x768 on a 50" set isn't going to look very good. I had a panasonic and it HAD to go back. Maybe at 40" that res would be acceptable but I wouldn't think many would enjoy the image on 50". If you are one of the few, congrats and enjoy.

I bought this tv last week. The picture is phenomenal on Bluray and pretty good with regular DVD. I watched the movie "9" (animated) not long afterwards and it blew me away. This tv is worth every penny ... at a minimum, find one at a local Sears and check it out, thats what sold me.

Why does every 720p television post result in someone attacking the quality of the resolution?
You don't think many would enjoy it? Have you looked at actual numbers? At a distance of 5 feet the human eye cannot tell the difference on a 50" screen. SD is usually lack on these screens, but HD programming is exemplary. IMHO, damn good deal for a 50" plasma screen. Green for you OP.
I'm going to keep on eye on this. Bing CashBack might be lower before the end of the month, but it might not be. The TV is only $35 off, they might have a better sale. Also, neither of my cars will transport this TV and Sears delivery charges are just ridiculous. Maybe they will have a discount on delivery this month. I'd bite if I could get free delivery now.

Anyone know which OEM manufacture actually makes this TV?

50" is the hairy point for 720p. I'm fine with 720p. My set it 720p, but it's also a 42" screen and I sit 8-10' away. At 10', someone with average eyes will max out a 50" 720p. If you sit closer than 10' away, you'll benefit from 1080p. Personally, I wouldn't buy a 720p set over 46", as that gives you a perfect image at 8' away and I assume most people sit about 8' from their tv.
My advice is to do the math and take your eyesight into account. I have perfect vision and tend to do a little bit better than the charts. You might not be able to distinguish the difference and it might not be worth it to you; however, on a 50" tv it's definitely something to think about.
Zenith's are still around? I'll swing by after stopping by Montgomery Wards...

I didn't feel that I was attacking this TV. If you love it, great. I'm simply saying that the resolution for this SIZE tv, for my taste, is not sufficient. For someone running out and not looking at the spec'ed resolution more carefully, they might be seriously disappointed. That was the point I had hoped to make. Attack me if you wish. My opinion is mine alone. Discard if you wish.

They did, many years ago....The Wards name is still around, like Circuit City. I got a catalog in the mail just a few months ago. I didn't look at it but I figure it is probably something like Fingerhut.
All of my Sears orders have shown Bing right after the order confirmation or pick-up notice. I'd wait to see if you get a delayed notice before you pick-up.
I got in on the 42" version for $449 before BCB. My main worry is that it seems to be very hot at the top right corner. The thin bezel must be limiting airflow.
You can fill out a "price protection" form online if you ordered online to get the price difference. I hope this doesn't screw up the Bing 15%. Even though I can get the Bing shopping page to show a 15% if I search on "Sears" enough, when I actually try to use it on the Sears page it is only 2%. So I think the 15% Bing is dead. I was going to order another one if I could get that price, and to protect myself if the price protection request screws up Bing.

I filled out the Price Protection Form and short thereafter received an email from Sears stating that they were crediting my credit card the difference. Thanks for the heads up!
yunfat said: yes, the in store price is now $599. If i ask for PM on pick up, will that void BCB in any way???

Just bought one and let me tell you, 720p or not it is dirt cheap for a 50" TV. They were snapping these up in droves today at Sears. I went there in June during their friends and family event. One of the clerks claimed he made several hundred dollars in commissions on it alone. The store was mostly empty by the time I got there but there were 3 people buying this thing right in front of me, site unseen. One guy goes up and goes I want that cheap plasma and I need it before father's day, the clerk said no problem they're sold out and coming on Tuesday's truck. I actually went there to measure it and look at it, because I had checked the stock online and knew they were already sold out before I even got there, didn't even take the truck, figured I'd buy it online instead and pick up later.
Actually appears to have a decent set of features for the price, 3 HDMIs, optical out, two component etc. Supports 24p sources, wide color gamut etc. Aside from being 720p it looked to have a fairly decent picture in store running a Sharp Aquos demo Blu-ray of all things. Also extremely thin for the price range for those looking for a thin TV, doesn't matter too much in my setup, I have a strange unit with a large wood upright back that mounts the set close to the wall but not on it.
I'll run some in home calibrations on it when it gets here and let you know how it looks. It is to replace my 1080p 42" Insignia LCD, which while nice is irritating in the fact that like most LCDs has uneven enough backlighting to become irritating espeically when you get used to the uniformity of a good plasma, plus the viewing angle is no great shakes. Honestly my cheaper Emerson plasma looks so much better than the Insignia I was tempted to switch them several times already. Following this upgrade, the Insignia gets relegated to the computer room, old iLo goes to my stepson's room, and the older Insignia gets wall mounted in the breezeway.
I went and checked out this tv at the Sears retail store near me, and to be honest it looks nothing close to as good as the tv its supposed to be a rebadged version of (the LG 50PJ350). I instead opted to search around for a good deal on the 50pj350 and found a way to get it down to $540 online...so it would actually end up being cheaper than this deal.
