I was just notified by Amazon (in an email) that I received a 3 month trial of Amazon Prime for using the subscribe and save for my baby product purchase a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if this is something everyone gets, so YMMV.

How does this compare to purchasing from Diapers.com. New mom, expecting in Sep. Any help appreciated.

I immediately canceled my subscription after receiving the discount. Now, almost a week after placing the order, I also received a 3 month trial of Amazon Prime.

Diapers.com is good only when you r placing order for 1st time, it gives $10 off. Amazon deal is much better cause with subscribe and save, you shall surely get 15% off everytime and the subscription can be as long as 6 months and can be cancelled anytime.

Interesting observation! So I went ahead to cancel my order for SnS but for kicks I wanted to see the price they picked to renew my order. I was kind of surprised to see same 30% off for the next order. So does that mean that for the entire duration of SnS I get 30% off? If thats the case, I am thinking of ordering 1 next size up for my kid and then if I find a better deals, cancel this SnS.

I think the discount would be 15% for orders afterwards. Since the 30% offer is still going on, this could be the reason you got that discount again.

Now, what's with this? Throwaway diapers? Wasteful.

When I was young, the diapers were made out of thick cotton...you put them on with big safety pins, blue plastic on top for boys, pink plastic on top for girls.

Once the diaper was used, you threw it in a bin with a cover or something, I guess kind of like those metal trash cans where you step on a pedal and the top goes flying up and down. You threw the diaper in the can, poop and all. I think you had some kind of thing you inserted to keep the smell down. (You couldn't keep it all down, but it helped. The rest of the smell, you got used to).

Now, once a week or so, a big truck would come by, stop in front of your place, and a driver would carry a big package of freshly-washed diapers to your front door, and pick up the semi-smelly bag of soiled diapers. The same diapers were laundered and sent out to another house. It was egalitarian--you never knew who used the diaper before you did--it could have been a future Nobel Prize Winner, a future President of the United States, or a future serial killer--or all three. We learned diversity at an early age.

Best of all, we did the environmentally friendly thing, long before there was Al Gore.

We recycled, in other words. Not like this wasteful generation who just decides to "poop and throw." Then runs out to the free wi-fi at Starbucks. Or worse, has some kind of 802.11n wireless network connected to some expensive home theater system that they bought on credit all before they paid off their student loans, which they didn't need anyway.

Reusable cloth diapers are not necessarily the "greener" option: Boston Globe - The Great Diaper Debate. Here's a Fox News Link to a similar article... based on your rant, I suspect that you have a preference for that news organization.

Bocadog Jr. that made me laugh! Love it!

I just hope you don't reuse the toilet paper.
