It really is an awesome tool, I bought mine from eBay for about $12 a few months ago. I have a small short haired kitten-it works on her. I wouldn't have paid $35, but now that I have used it, I can see why it is expensive. I would definitely get it while it's on sale.
I own this comb. This product really works. I retrospect I would prefer to have the extra large size as it would be more efficient in combing the cat. That says a lot considering my cat is a runt (Only 7 lbs; 5 years old).
FYI - FURminator is not the only one that has brushes with this type of blade now. I believe I've seen two other brands, and own one of them which works just fine.
