I finally saw the wall mount one when I went to check out, but the cashier wouldn't scan it for me and said it was back to $99.99. Bet they were holding it behind the counter for another employee or herself. I didn't really want the wall mounted one though, wanted the $9 wheeled one that I didn't find...
If you take the SKU to the store and go to a department like flooring, they can punch it in to check stock/price, it should also display stock at nearby HDs. Of course, you'll want to be able to see the monitor so you can verify the info they give and see the other store stock.

HD site down.. being updated as I type. Shouldn't be too long, hopefully.
they also have the 12gallon rigid wet/dry vac for 20 bucks, on the website it's $80 but the tag said it was marked down from $40, maybe it was from a previous clearance...
The 12 gallon is a special discount version of the more expensive one; only real differences that I can tell is that its missing 2 of the otherwise included attachments (which sell separately for about $20 for the pair). I think its the claw attachment and the wet attachment.
Got the last one at my store. A little beat from up open box, but included accessories so I didn't complain. Clerk said optional wheels are available, but I didn't check.
Previously got the 9 gal special buy, but it was bigger than I wanted and this is more powerful.

I read in the reviews on the HD site and one reviewer said that there are places on the bottom of the vacuum to attach wheels, if you want to buy them and do so. I have not check mine. But I plan to install it on the wall. The unit is easily remove from the mounting bracket, when needed, so having wheels might please some.
Also: Sears sells 1-7/8" accessories and attachment, which is the same size as this unit. They might fit? I read over at SD that Ridgid makes vacuums for Sears Craftsman. In fact, Sears sells a unit similar unit with said hoses and attachments for $99. The vacuum body is a different shape and color though, but the units both have the same specs.

Salesman told me they went on clearance just this morning, and said their cost was about $65. He had four, and I bought one. He had none of the wall-mounted vacs. Said he sold the last one yesterday. There are none at the Woodstock store. He managed to get the Kennesaw store to hold one for me. There was one left there at noon, after I got mine. That store also had the same 12-gallon on clearance. Green for you, OP, (though I don't care much for your avatar).

I saw the same one at my Home Depot (Wappingers Falls, NY) but it had a 45.00 price tag. I decided to get one and it rang up for 18.98. There were about 6-8 left. The model number is WD1278 and the box says to compare with the WD1250. I think the WD1278 has a fewer accessories compared to the WD1250. HD website lists the WD1278 for 49.88.

got one at WoodlandHills, CA. Thanks for the post. They still have 8 available.
Thanks, OP. My local one in Seattle, WA said they had all been sold yesterday (guy said folks were walking out with multiple ones), but I found a display with a few hidden behind. Grabbed one, still 2 left at the Aurora HD in Seattle, look in front of the contractor's checkout.
Still 4 or 5 of the wall hangers at Merrifield VA. They're not with the rest of the vacs, but on a separate set of shelves at the front close to the contractor entrance. Also a couple of the $9 units left. The shelf space is bare but look up high right above where they have the Rigid air circulator displayed. Lots of the 12 gallons.

I went to my HD in western WI and decided to try this. I put the WD1278 in my cart (marked at $45.00) and it rang up as $45.00. I have to go there tomorrow, so I'll be returning it. They did have some 6 gallon models on sale for the $18.XX price tag, but I really wanted the 12 gallon unit.

Didn't see any hanger models, but the 9-gal for $9 and 12 gal for $19 were plentiful at Merrifield.
Scored one at local 5 mins away. Tagged on shelf with empty spaces. After looking around I spied one hidden under a chop saw with a sold sign attached to it. As far as I'm concerned,if it was sold, it should've been behind customer service area. I sensed a store employee trying to score one. Anyway, me gotz one!!
You guys will have to comeback and tell us about the quality of these units. $18 is crackhead prices so Im wondering if HD or Rigid knows something we dont.

Ridgid makes vacuums for Sear Craftsman. source here
In fact, Sears sells a similar model vacuum like this for $99, with the same specs and accessories.
The shape of the vacuum body is a different and the color is Sears Craftsman red. line to Sears vacuum
