New 2009 505HP Corvette Z06 MSRP $75,250 On Sale $55,998 Possible $3000 More GM Employees Coughlin Cars Columbus Ohio

Here's the car listed in the ad (before discounts): LINK
Although I own an M3, this is one heck of an automobile at an awesome price. It truly is a supercar, at an unreal price. The deal isn't for most, but a few can appreciate the technology and engineering you are getting for under $56,000. The ad actually says the MSRP on this model was $84,015, less $14,262 discount, plus $5000 rebate. But on the site, it shows $75,250 MSRP, so I've listed it per the website, not the Columbus Dispatch.
I'd bet there's similar savings at other dealerships. This particular model is P12354. There are 5 others available in stock at same or greater discounts per the ad. They also have 3 2010 ZR1's left at $9000 off and 0% for 60 months.

wow awesome deal....ya probably a lot of other dealers will also offer similar deals...they want to get rid of it to make room for 2011 cars. But those 09 z06 they probably got them around sept of 08...so it's just been sitting there for 2 years or more....I wonder what kind of problems will those car have...never been driven and just sit there for 2 years.....anyways I wonder if there are still a lot of 09 z06 left...I might just get one but not for another 2,3 months

Many of these ZO6's and Grand Sports sitting around dealers lots were used by GM executives and referred to as "Brass Hat" cars that have low mileage and the dealer must sell as used with remaining factory warranty. Some dealers had the cash to buy them from GM for pennies on the dollar when their financial problems hit.
This should add $300 a month to your insurance bill, or more. The other problem I have seen is these split in half at higher speeds, I mean literally in half. A guy I knew here lost control of his in the rain and well l, it didn't workout. RIP my friend.
All you're losing out on compared to buying a 2010 or 2011 model is the launch control and side airbags...but resale of what's now a 2 year old model won't compare well to a newer model. The salesman that was trying to sell me a Corvette a while ago pointed out the good resale of Corvettes in general, they may be better than other GMs, but data available shows you still lose a fair amount in absolute terms.
I don't know how I feel about this car. The C6 LS3 offers much of the same performance for less money. I wonder if there will be any similar deals for a 2009 LS3 Corvette. Though If one of these can be had NEW < 100 miles for under 50k, that would be a steal. However they are a difficult car to live with, plan on clenching every time there is a pothole in the road, they like to bottom out.

Not at this price for the Zo6 it doesn't. Sorry...but if someone is looking for a "sports car" for the mid-life crisis fix..yes, the plain C6 will do. Anyone that wants a vette for a "vette"..should go for the Zo6 or ZR1...If someone disagrees..do drive the different models to see what I mean...

please post some info on this or BS.
sorry about your friend, his accident (in the rain) was a direct result of the car at fault how?
I would be worried about this, i know for the longest time the Z06 was hard to get a hold of due to demand, and low production rates... so why a 09 would still be at the dealers lot should be a little disturbing, especially since the 11's will be out soon.
Great deal, and i want it (and to be able to afford it...)

Not sure if your thinking about the ZR1 or what...but multiple dealerships around my tri-state area have had Z06's in stock and on the lot for a pretty long time now..
On December 31st 1965 I purchased a 1966 Corvette. 327 -350 HP 4-11 posi. 4 speed. The color was Mossport green with a white convertable top and Jade green interior. The price out the door with tax, license etc total was $4,162 dollars.

Please speak for yourself. Just because I'm a fatwallet member for the past 5 years doesn't mean I can't afford or appreciate the posting of these deals. Quite frankly, Fatwallet has allowed me to enjoy some finer thing due to savings on that item or savings on many items allowing me to purchase other high end items. Today, I'm retired, have 3 nice BMW's all less than 4 years old, live in a mid 6 figure paid for home, have put two kids through college including one to medical school and have a savings portfolio well over 7 figures. I'm not bragging but many years ago starting with reading consumer reports when I was 20 through today using sites like fatwallet, dealtime, eBay and restaurant.com I still love the thrill of a deal. At 62 thrills, especially after my work life, don't come as frequently as they used to.
Bottom line, I'm done preaching but if you want to achieve the level the financial success you want, instead of talking or blaming others, you have to work at it because its 5% aspiration, 5% luck, 20% of a usable colege education, and 70% perspiration, sacrifice and determination.
FYI a dealer in Tampa is offfering a 2010 ZR1 (sticker 120k) for 107K with 72 month financing. If you can afford it (see me latter diatribe on not all fatwallers drive used KIA's) it's a pretty good deal for the best bang for the buck super car in the world and one that was selling for 30k over MSRP only 2 years ago. I'd bet there's even another 3-4K negotiating availabe there and probably another 5k if you want to use your money (cash). Might be worth it to sell some underperforming portfolio assets, pay cash, and take the extra savings and asset loss write off on you 1040. Whatever, if you are in the market, this is a pretty decent deal. This car and similar ones like it are on life support thanks to the current Federal regime's economic and energy policies.

The cars are "new" since they were never titled....only driven by GM executives.
1lossir said: Wow, things must be tuff in deal-repost land if the best that can be found is a "deal" on a "new" 2-year-old Corvette...
It's new until it is titled the first time. That's what the law says.

the cars we are talking about here are new cars, with very few miles, maybe less than 20, not demo cars that have been driven by anyone

That's better than it staying together and catching fire, then melting all around/on you. I don't really care though, it's still a kickass ride.
