I got the large for the Labs last week.

Got the Dog one and it is brilliant on my Australian Cattle Dog/Mix.

Thanks, been looking for a cat size.

Is there a difference between the cat and dog model other than the width?

Nope - well, size & color.

Okay, a question here:

With a brush, we get some loose cat hair out, and are able to cut down on shedding.

When I watch these furminator videos, I get the impression this thing is almost like a clipper...is that right?

TIA

NO. This tool does a much better job of getting the undercoat groomed. I'm amazed at how much hair comes off with it vs "normal" tools. My two cats have very different hair types and this helps with both. The little one with a heavier undercoat feels smooth as silk when I've used it on her.

It's not too much like a clipper. However, make no mistake that it IS cutting your pet's fur. We have regular cats with short hair/fur (not super fluffy). When properly using this brush on them, it certainly removes the loose hair and cuts a little extra. We don't get anything near what those pictures (looks like bags of fur next to the pet) show. A fair amount more than a "regular" brush, though.

It is not like a clipper in that it trims the overall length of the coat (like taking a pet to the groomer). It is more like a thinner. Similar to those annoying thinning scissors at the (human) hair salon.

After having bought one from Butcherboy's post a couple weeks ago, I can attest to the Furminator's ability to remove an unbelieveable amount of undercoat fur from a cat. We have a Maine Coon mix and the Furminator took off enough hair and fur to make 2 bowling ball shaped piles - and that was just after the first use!! Our cat now looks thinner, has a shinier coat and is overall much happpier.

We still find little puffs of his hair on the carpet once in awhile, but nothing compared to the amount we found before using it.

Two paws up for the Furminator!!!

In for a 4" Thanks OP

For a cat, which is preferred, the dog size or cat size one? Because my cat is the size of a small toy dog and he is 15 lbs, lol!

I ordered the medium one because the 4 inches would of been too big and the 1.75 inch is too small

THIS THING IS MAGIC!
That's all there is to it.

My cat loves the thing. But your mileage may vary.

My dogs love it as well. And it does a great job.

We have one cat that has very long fur and gets deep mats, that are close to his skin.

They are nearly impossible to prevent or to cleanly or easily remove once they form.

Would this work on those types of mats?

Is the "new" model worth the price premium?

Large Original is $10.22 & eligible for free shipping with Amazon Prime or Large FURminator FURejector deShedding Tool for Dogs $18.62

I bought this for my brother's Rottweiler and let me tell you this thing is truly amazing!!!!!!

I am looking for one for my cats.
