Did not notice the actual value. Nice.

Wow this is a cool deal. But I'm assuming it has to be on the exact birthday, right? That might be hard for some. Good for you if your bday lands on a Saturday or Sunday though!

**Valid for round trip travel on your birthday between May 1, 2011 to April 30, 2012.
**You MUST begin travel on your actual birth date. You may return anytime within 30 days after your departure date.

Good for a boat ride while singing "Im on a boat"

Free round trip but probably have to tip a bunch of people and pay for parking, food, bathroom, etc. I wish these companies would come up with marketing deals that actually benefit the consumer for once.

*Where is this place?

Thanks Op, is anyone here know the discount code for other family members?

It's about an hour ride from Los Angeles? I haven't been there in a while, looks like I'm going this year for my bday.....alone.

Even though I got it from wiki, I'm usually surgically precise.

Wonder if I can have a wine mixer while I'm there?

Of course, if he were to ask you "what's for supper?" - you could reply
"Allium cepa, calcium chloride, tomato puree, cultured pasteurized milk, vegetable rennet, corn starch, rosemary extract, canola oil, reduced sodium sea salt, cooked Phaseolus Vulgaris, Allium sativum and black pepper, simmered for 22 minutes, dear."

My lady and I like to have Mimosas on boat on the way over...it's a great way to start they trip. Nothing like being buzzed at 8 AM.

Thanks OP..will utilize this...likely twice.

You're firestarter's horse, according to your name.

Definitely a hot deal, but note that the ferry companies regularly have Groupons if you keep an eye out. At 50% off, those would be equivalent for a couple but you could go any time...

You might want to change the title and mention "On a boat"...I was hoping for a plane ticket. This is a no-go from MN.

I picked up two 50% tix from the last OC Register deal. Wish this would have been around before I bought (or vice-versa), then I would have just picked up one ticket and saved even more $$$!

What selling chewing gum will get you. Well if you sell a lot of it anyway.

"William Wrigley, Jr. bought 99% of Catalina Island in 1919. He chose the setting for his new home on Mt. Ada (named after his wife, Ada) because it received first sunlight in the morning and the last rays at sunset. The Inn is 350 feet above the town and harbor. The building of the Wrigley's home was started in 1920 and completed in 1921. The couple enjoyed their home together through January 1932, when Mr. Wrigley died. Mrs. Wrigley continued to visit until 1947, when she suffered a stroke and lingered in a coma in Pasadena for 11 years. She died in 1958. From 1921 to 1932, the Wrigley's entertained a number of famous guests at their island home, including Presidents Calvin Coolidge, Warren Harding, and the Prince of Wales. "

The one that often run a voucher usually leave from Marina Del Rey port, but I prefer Catalina Express in Long Beach, shorter boat ride and more flexible schedule.

Catalina Wine Mixer LoL

I was thinking the same thing, after watching "Step Brother" Funny Commment.

Nice find OP. Worth a shot when your Bday gets closer to decide what to do.

So why not go twice, for the same price?

You and whomever you bought the Register tickets for can go on your birthday using one free and one 50%-off ticket, and then repeat on the second person's birthday with the other half-off ticket.

...or bring two friends with the Groupon deal. Three for the price of one.

does anyone know where to get a discount in general for this? what is the oc register?

pjws3 said:   does anyone know where to get a discount in general for this? what is the oc register?

Oc register is a newspaper in Orange county, CA.

Dont forget Wrigley used to own the Chicago Cubs , and until the late 50's, they used to spring train on the island

the Avalon Casino (not a real casino)

flying fish tours (NOT fly fishing)

I hear the sheep on Catalina Island are frightening.

lol nice moving to OC next month... may give this a go

Funny, reminds me of this video I watched 5 years ago

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIKVG0V_kAk

Looks Cool, That's nice that you have over 12 months. Not signing up today, although I may be on the island come BDay time.

FYI the ride does get rough at times.
If you get seasick easily, like I do, it won't be a fun birthday lol.

I am not interested in this

davesusany said:   I am not interested in this

Thank you for clicking, reading, and letting us know that you're not interested then.

Ahh nevermind, I got a BOGO deal for the Catalina Passenger Service, which leaves from Newport Harbor. The Express leaves from Long Beach/LA. Different ferry. Still a great deal though!

Skipping 28 Messages...
there should be a thread on birthday deals... my roommate gets ton of mailers around her birthday and I am sure that is pretty standard from the vendors
