Absolutely yes, the offer numbers are different. The only manufacturer where this could be a problem is with McAfee.
SuperOcean said: Do you guys buy from Newegg under the FW Cash Back program or the ebates program? They both show 2.4 - 4% so it shouldn't matter right? It doesn't matter. FatCash is 2.6% now. I generally do FatCash if the amount is as good as other sites, although using ebates can be advantageous if you have other stuff there since you need $5 to get paid.
thanks for the headsup..I am gonna try anyway...I do notice the bill too does have my name on it...Anybody have any results or is this TOFTT (Take one for the team)
snugglening said: I will take your advice..Just noticed i ordered another McAfee product looks like I will return it due to problems with rebatesSo long as you only buy one of the same product per product year, you should be OK.

There was one company a while ago that cared about stuff like that. I don't think that Parago (who processes McAfee and most of the other stuff being discussed here) does.

As I explained to Bill many times before, they rejected my rebates due to submitting more than one rebate of different software companies even though they were different promotion numbers, dates, products and retailers. What that means is one rebate per software company per product. The rebate center also informed me that it was new policy and it was going to be strictly enforced. The rebate center now has access to the database and see all rebates submitted by you. Just a heads up.

Which manufacturer(s) did this occur with? The only problems I've ever had with them that couldn't be fixed were with McAfee.

I try to pick up some of these FAR security software when they go on sale for my clients' home PC. At most, I probably buy maybe 4-5 copies of the same product per year. Since these software were meant for end users, it would look a little suspicious if someone where purchasing say 30+ copies of the same software over the course of a year for one household.
Also, I wonder if the restriction is for each product (same version) per year and the "counter" gets reset for next year. I'll still keep to my usual buying pattern for now, until more reports come in confirming the new policy.
If we did the last McAfee total protection rebate, will this work? Someone said McAfee is only good each product per year. I did McAfee total protection 3 user from Newegg $60 rebate on 2/21/12.

Many people have reported being denied for purchasing two of the same McAfee products in the same year. The denial comes from McAfee not the rebate company. I haven't been denied but have stopped doing that since all the trouble started. If you get denied reports are that you can't get it fixed.

It's too bad because they are good sellers. I guess I can't risk it, $40 is profit on about 30 pieces of software after fees, definitely not worth the chance.

And I highly doubt they will take a copy of the UPC for the main rebate.
Do most people have trouble getting McAfee rebates? I did around 10 of them in the past 6 months and got them all (some for the same product from the same website, different offers) in reasonable time.

Ive done about 30 this year, many for the same products. I dont think its an issue anymore (never was for me) but some people think it is, so more for us.
Are most FAR products anti-virus s/ware products? Or does the "good stuff" lol, pop up now and again? Don't ask me what I mean by "good stuff" because I don't even know,

Don't ask me what I mean by "good stuff" because I don't even know, I think Corel has "good stuff," and there are often a large number of video editing suites that LEGALLY support high-def video. When these go on sale for free-after-rebate, there're generally a lot of them! WinDVD was free after rebate and provided a legal way to watch encrypted blu-ray movies for us.
And yes, most of the time, it's "just" security software... that you can resell for a profit.
