One FAR title -- QuickBooks Online Simple Start 2011 -- with completely new rebates this offer period. All the other titles in this week's edition are from last week or earlier.

It has been reported on SD that McAfee through its rebate processor, Parago, has started to enforce a one per product restriction on its rebates. Until this is sorted out, submitting more than one rebate per product is not advised even if the rebate has a different rebate number and different offer period. The rebate invalidation message has been reported as "Your rebate request did not pass our audit process".

Sure there is a chance but only if your OD employee does not know the price match policies:

How does our Price Match Guarantee work for in-store purchases?
If you find a lower price at another store on a new, identical item, show us the lower price at the time of purchase and we will match it on the spot. Or show us the lower price within 14 days of your Office Depot purchase and we will pay you the difference. Our price is the final price you pay after any discounts, coupons, instant savings and mail-in savings are applied. We will match the other store's point-of-sale price after deducting their instant rebates and coupons. We will not match the other store's mail-in rebates nor will we deduct the value of any gift with purchase.

Impact of Office Depot Rewards Program and the Terms and Conditions change dated July 01, 2011:

For those who were not paying any attention or who noted the change but did not think much of it (I would fall in the latter category), Office Depot changed its rewards program in two major ways effective July 01, 2011:

--- If earned rewards (standard, bonus and recycling)* for a quarter are less than $10, all rewards will expire at the end of that quarter (instead of carrying over to the next quarter only to expire at calendar year end).
--- The qualified purchase requirement is now calculated on a quarterly basis not an annual basis.

What does this mean for first and second quarter rewards (standard, bonus and recycling) and qualified purchases?
--- Unpaid out rewards from the first and second quarter did carry over to the third quarter.
--- Total annual qualified purchases from the first and second quarter did not carry over to the third quarter.

What does this mean for third quarter rewards (standard, bonus and recycling) and qualified purchases?
--- Accounts with 3rd quarter earned rewards of less than $10 will have all rewards zeroed out. Those with 3rd quarter earned rewards of $10 or more will have their earned rewards paid out as normal and the rest will carry over to the 4th quarter. (Any unpaid out rewards at the end of the 4th quarter will expire at the calendar year end)
--- Only third quarter qualified purchases count.

What can be done?
--- At a minimum, make sufficient qualified purchases to have at least $10 in earned rewards in the 3rd quarter.
--- Preferably, make sufficient qualified purchases to release all unpaid rewards through 09/30/2011.

* - Earned recycling rewards:
------- standard rewards: 10% on ink and toner; case, ream and photo paper; copy, print and other products/services in-store at Copy & Print Depot.
------- bonus rewards: e.g. 100% back in rewards offers.
------- recycling rewards: unpaid out recycling rewards to the extent matched by the current quarters qualified purchases.

Considering the T&C and the FAQ, I do not understand either statement.

To be safe, have qualified purchases in the third quarter equal to or greater than the total unpaid recycling rewards for the first three quarters.
