If you order a Quantity of 2, would it give you the subscription for 2 years or would it send two copies of the magazine each month? Would like to renew for multiple years but don't know how that works at Amazon since I have not ordered magazines from there before.

No, 2-year promotions are separate from 1-year. You probably gonna get 2 copies each month. About the renewal feature:
"This subscription will automatically renew until you decide to cancel. Cancel any time in the Magazine Subscription Manager We'll renew on your behalf and you'll always receive the lowest price available on Amazon at the time of renewal. Each renewal term will be the same length as your original subscription, unless otherwise posted. Before your subscription expires, we'll notify you that your subscription is about to be renewed and you may change your address or your credit card, or you may cancel before the order is placed."

i got so spoiled with the free magazines in the free stuff forum which had maxim, popular mechanics, pop science, car and driver, etc.. recently that i don't want to shell out cash for mags anymore.
You can cancel auto renew any time in the Magazine Subscription Manager

Nice, just picked up Maximum PC, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics and Smart Money. If you just buy 1 magazine at the newstand it'll cost you $5, so might as well sign up and get a years worth!

Once subscriptions have fully processed, I think you change reverse the auto-renewal pretty easily on the Amazon account page, and not have to wait for the reneal notice.
