I am confused!
I went to Fry's and the Free After Rebate Software was called Datapilot! I am not sure how Datapilot is related to PDAnet. Are they both the same or something is wrong with your descrption!
sauceyapple said: This is arguably the best tethering software since it doesn't use the same tethering ports other tethering apps or rooted phones use which is a easy way for the different cell phone carriers to notice.
EXPIRED: It's Susteen DataPilot Universal Kit with Cables at newegg for $8 starting at 4pm pacific.
Susteen DataPilot Universal Kit without cables, free after $20 rebate at frys.
To see if this will work with your phone, here is the link to pdanet (which is the included tethering app)

I was going to buy this, but I'm not wasting my money until someone who gets theirs can confirm this is PdaNet

I just got this from Fry's - it is not immediately obvious from the enclosed information that the included software is PDAnet, but if you follow their instructions to download - reproduced as best as I can below - you are apparently getting PDAnet.

JUST a quick warning to everyone..... I NEVER got my rebate from buying this software back in APRIL of 2011. I read that MANY others never got their rebates from that time and again when they ran the same deal in September. So make sure you want to pay the full price before doing this as it seems they don't honor the rebates. The program itself does work OK. It can be rather challenging to get it all to work.... or at least it was for me.

ok i have unlocked iphone that I use on Tmobile. I am at loss how to tether with it using this software. Seems like waste of $20 and rebate effort. if anyone has any idea how to do it please post.

FYI: it is not "Universal Kit", it is "DataPilot® for Windows® Cell Phone Data Transfer to Your PC" http://www.datapilot.com/datapilot_pages/productsnew.asp Got it from Newegg, checked the box: no PDA Net, no option to use phone as modem. Called Newegg, they gave me $7.99 back - at least have a free iPhone and micro USB cable to keep PS: I didn't register the software after confirming that it is regular Transfer kit with no PDA Net. I can't say based on that that PDA Net link wasn't in registration email. Didn't want to risk to get stuck with wasting $8 for nothing

No PDA Net with Newegg deal, confirmed. Did register it just to find out. Web page, 2 emails, no PDA Net links. More, the crappy software says that it doesn't work with iTunes 10.5 and it needs iTunes to work with iPhone - "we haven't tested with the version of iTune, data transfer with iPhone may not work". I don't care, I was looking for PDA Net. Useless box of junk except an extra iPhone cable. I'd pay $1 for it, no more

Ordered the DataPilot Tether software from Fry's and tested it with my AT&T iphone. It works. My Iphone is 3GS with IOS 5.0.1. You should have your iphone JailBreaked (redsnow 0.9.10b3), download and install the PDANET software v5.30 from Cydia. THanks OP.

Does any one still keep the rebate form for Data pilot? If yes, can you forward it to me? I need to contact with them for my rebate check. Thanks!

I still have not received my rebate as of yet. I sent it December 27th. Any body received theirs? I am beginning to suspect foul play!
I spoke with someone at Susteen the other day and verified that DataPilot HotSpot Tether (DP200-SW5) includes one license for PdaNet, which has to be downloaded and installed separately from junefabrics.com or susteen.com as per these instructions. The person I spoke with said you don't have to install DataPilot first, so maybe you don't have to intall it at all if you just want the PdaNet features.
As someone pointed out earlier, the UPC Code on the rebate form matches the one listed on Frys.com's product page but the Manufacturer Model numbers do not (DP200-SW4 vs DP200-SW5). I concur with earlier poster that this must be typo. Also, Frys.com appears to be listing old product names as Amzon and other sites list names that match those on the rebate form and Susteen's web site.

For what it is worth I mailed my rebate around November 15th and received it February 11th.
DataPilot HotSpot Tether (Fry's SKU 6433092, Susteen Part DP200-SW5) includes licence for latest version of PdaNet downloaded from June Fabrics. PdaNet can be installed without installing DataPilot after obtaining license key from Susteen here.

What other excuse would there be for complaining about a rebate after only 5 weeks.

Well today is March 13th and the rebate was sent in late December and I still have not received it. Website indeed shows my name and the fact I am eligible but they have simply not sent it yet. Also I sent them a number of inquiries with no response what so ever.
Stay away from these guys....they're a scam

I'm still waiting for this rebate, but another Susteen Datapilot rebate (for Tether Hotspot as well, just for a December 1st submission) came through. Submitted it Dec 1st 2011, received the check at the end of February.

Also waiting. Rebate processor says they're just waiting to be paid and will disburse the checks when that happens.

I got my rebate last week. Sent the rebate form in Late Dec. The actual product did not contain the PDAnet for my iphone. It is basically for Android only. The box image is misleading.

I just received my rebate after going through the following steps 1- Claim filed with Fry's and no response after sending all information for over a month 2- Better Business Bureau complaint against Fry's...someone calls and promises a follow up and two weeks passed without follow up 3- Filed a BBB complaint against Susteen and voila! I got my check. Obviously, I will never buy something with rebates even again cause it's not worth the hassle.
My rebates were sent in the mail end of December 2011!
