and, if you can wait 10-15 days for a Hong Kong shipment, a ton of sellers on eBay. I just got a very cool one that has a motion sensor in the middle.

Ok for a night light, but not too good for anthing else. It is equivalent to an 40 Watt incandescent.

If you have a fixture with 3 A19 bulbs (for exmaple), a 40W is perfect.
And that multiplies your energy savings x3

Just for grins here's a breakdown between a 40w bulb and the one above.
hrs uses hrs uses
bulb life 40w/hr bulb life 8w/hr
5000 1600000 (40w*40000 hrs) 40000 320000 (8w*40000 hrs)
bulb cost 8@.42=3.36 kw hr used 1@12.99=12.99 kw hr used
1600 Cost of pwr 320 Cost of pwr
1-500 kw/hr 0.08 40 1-500 kw/hr 0.08 25.6
501-1000 kw/hr 0.0931 46.55
> 1000 kw/hr 0.103 61.8
148.35 T cost of pwr T cost of pwr 25.6
151.71 pwr + blub 38.59 pwr + blub
DIFFERENCE -113.12
ok, I don't know how to format but the net cost difference between the two is quite amazing.
3 * 151.71 vs 3 * 38.59 for a 3 bulb fixture...

Are any of these bulbs energy star certified?

My electric utility, and probably many others, is doing rebates on energy star certified LED lights installed ($10-$20 depending on the wattage).
