Not quite sure why it is useful to take Vit-D as a suppplement. Vit-D all by itself MAY be useful in Multiple Sclerosis prophylaxis or management. As to make bone stronger? You have to take Calcium with it. Must of the Calcium source commonly used, a.k.a, milk, is typically fortified with Vit-D anyway. So why do anybody still need Vit-D as supplement? Besides, if you are that desperate for Vit-D, just walk outside into the sun light. Your body will make it for you.

Frankly I wouldn't have given a thought to taking a supplement until my doctor told me I had a low level of vitamin D based on bloodwork he did.
The only problem with this offer is the strength of the pills. 5000IU is far higher than the 1000IU my doctor prescribed. YMMV of course.

I debated with myself if you are really worthy of a couple minutes of my life. But what the heck, you sound like a sweet old man. Here is the article from British Medical Journal just freshly published in the past few days -- BMJ 2012;344 : d8345 . It is a review on Vitamin D supplement usage. If you don't understand it, give it to your doctor. Let him explain it to you.
