One of the hottest T-Mobile Phones, probably the best they have so far. T-Mobile has it for $229, Costco has a special for $149, for new lines and upgrades.

Any instruction on how to purchase as an upgrade? Thanks

edit: NVM found it

FYI it says you need to have completed 22 months of your contract to qualify for this price on an upgrade. Won't work for me, but still a great deal.

$ 199 before a $ 50 mail in rebate at Costco. They usually dont tell you until you get there.

Or as many say, probably the best phone available period.

I'm not up on mobile phones, so ... why? And what about the best phone available, "one generation back" ?

$10 per month web required (or $30 if you want)

Well, the best phone must be Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

I have a grandfathered data plan from tmobile, which is $10 unlimited data. Called Tmobile to see if I can upgrade to this phone without upgrading my dataplan. Was told no! With $20 more per month plus tax, this upgrade becomes not attractive at all. Anybody has experience on how costco handles this?

Do you get Unlimited 4G for $10 ?

Their current $10 200MB plan also is unlimited. 200 MB of 4G and then unlimited at lower speed.

i suppose it is unlimited 4g as I have been using the data everyday with a "3.5G" shown in my nokia phone.

Are you sure about that? I thought only $20 and $30 data is unlimited. The $10 plan you have to pay over-used or something like that.

you're absolutely right, 200mb is the limit anything over that would cost you an arm and a leg

Updated last Saturday. Took a little over an hour to go thru 3 phones. It was 199.99 - 50 MIR + tax on $519(taxed on the regular price) so you prolly wanna go to location with a lower tax rate to save few more bucks.

They were able to offer me 2gb for 20 for one line, for the other two I had to go with 200megs for $10 and then call tmobile to have them upgrade me 2gb for 20. I suggest choosing $10 instead of $30 in coscto and then talking to tmobile cuz I suspect it would be easier to upgrade to the more expensive plan rather then downgrade from $30 to $20.

Also if you have been grandfathered in with some plan with better rates, ask the CSR nicely if there is a possibility to keep the plan and make the changes you want. They didnt want to let me keep my $9.99 family msging, but after asking politely and few minutes on hold they were able to add my 2gb for $20 and keep my family msging price.

I'm thinking about getting this phone for the $30/month prepaid plan. Is it doable? Can I buy it and pay the early termination fee? Is the early termination fee $200 as in http://www.t-mobile.com/Templates/Popup.aspx?PAsset=Ftr_Ftr_Term...

Target has it for $99 on sale this week - both new and upgrade lines. Check out their weekly ad at www.target.com.

I got this deal at my costco last week...$149 OTD...no mail in rebate. The details do specify a $20 or greater data plan is required. Got $10 costco cash reward for signing up for auto-payment of bill through AMEX. The plans available through costco seem identical to T-Mobile classic plans.

Just bought 3 from Staples for about $50 each plus tax. Target has it for $99 price match at Staples and on their website there is a coupon for $50 off any $49 or more. It depends on the cashier the coupon may not be used. But I got the manager to take the $50 coupon off for each phone and there is a $50 mail in rebate from T-Mobile so you get the phone for free just pay the tax on full retail price for each phone. Be nice and politely you have better chance to get the phone almost free. Good luck everyone

Thank you! I originally planned to get it from Target but tried Staples on your advice. I was able to get it matched to Target's price of $99 and then they also applied the $50 coupon so I got it for about $50 but had to pay taxes on the original price ($629) in California. The total came out to about $105. Still a great deal!

go to Tmobile.com there is an application for costco and Staples rebate form for extra $50 for upgrade customer so basically you pay taxes for the full retail price

Depends if you weigh more heavily on certain aspects of hardware quality.

T-Mobile Galaxy S2 has a better processor/GPU, better camera quality, and a microSD slot.

Galaxy Nexus' main advantage is that it's got ICS, but that advantage is not going to last forever. It's other advantages are that it's got a better screen and faster camera.

In my opinion, the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 has the best hardware in the world still, and it'll catch up within a few months on the software side.

Sweet! You are the best!

Check out their weekly ad at www.target.com.they almost always do (and other places even cheaper right now!) which makes this deal lousy at best (especially when you count the $50 membership), unless their is some costco return policy potential in a year or two time.

Better camera quality is negligible when they both have low quality sensors. Megapixel doesn't mean much in the realm of smartphones these days. I would say the 'better screen' is a HUGE advantage of the s2 as Samsung was finally able to overcome the god awful resolution on the s2 super amoled screen. The next advantage is no touchwiz for those of use that prefer Android in its native form. ICS needs NO window dressing.

There's no catch up to the S2. It's a 2010 phone that has already been surpassed by the Nexus Prime and many more should surpass both in June... quad core, quad core, quad core!

Tmobile has it for $80 after $50 rebate.

Where are you getting the $50 off coupon for Staples?

Eh, if you say so. This has nothing to do with megapixels. The Galaxy S2 has been rated by some independent tests as the best cellphone camera quality on any phone, tying or exceeding the iPhone 4S. The Nexus Prime isn't even close.

You can argue that camera quality still sucks, but for some people even if its not an SLR, its still important to have better image quality.

Sams Club has it for $99 and no rebate.

People w/ SLRs usually have a quality P&S as a backup. A good example would be the Pana LX5, which neither of these smartphones can light a candle to. I use it as my primary.

so if anything, I'm arguing that 3MP difference in camera which equates to marginally better PQ (if that) is hardly a reason to claim the s2 overall superior when both digicams fill the same basic purpose.

IMO, screen with which one interacts with more is significantly more important, and the Nexus Prime wins in that dept hands down. 800×480 < 1280 x 720. This is very noticeable... one of the primary complaints regarding the s2 that I've read is the screen not even being up to par with qHD ala 3vo. Next is UI. It's well established touch wiz is crap. sure, one can root, then remove, but why bother. Next HUGE plus: Ice Cream Sandwich, and as a vanilla phone, faster updates in general though to me I'm rooting and running custome ROMs regardless.

In any case, buying the s2 at $149 w/ 2 year contract this late in the game is a joke. That much I'm sure we can agree on. At that price point, one might as well wait a couple months and see what the 'smartphone solstice' brings us @ $200.
