Not poo-pooing the OP, but I had one of these some years ago. The way the pegs are screwed in is cheap, so they end up falling out over time.
OTOH, looks decent and if you're on a tight budget and rarely need to hang anything really heavy, not a bad deal. Just realize it won't last more than 2-3 years.
I have this exact one, also from AMZN. It's just as fragile as the reviews suggest. The bottom legs slid into a groove, so there's very little wood holding them in. Bad design for cheap wood. We mainly use it for the kids coats and backpacks, but it's already fallen over and broken once. I repaired it with some wood glue and one screw, but when (not if) it breaks again, we're going to buy something more sturdy.
I liked this review: Other thoughts: I don't know why I torture myself so, but I'm seriously considering buying another one...
I guess that's why he gave 2 stars instead of 1.
He also goes on to say: Every other rack I am looking at seems to be roughly the same quality, but the fact that I'm a tall guy who wears heavy coats means I have to find a sturdier rack.
I have to admit I wasn't expecting much out of this rack. I only paid like $15 for it, I read reviews saying it was really cheap but it would be okay if you had some nails & wood glue to secure the feet better. It was great for about 4 months, then my roommate's 3 year old started playing with it, running past it knocking it down, and one of the feet came off. I used some wood glue & reattached it, and it held for a few more months, until finally 2 of the feet broke off, and the wood between them also came off.
If you have some wood glue & nails, and no small kids, go ahead and buy this rack. If you've got kids, find a sturdier one, or better yet one that nails to the wall out of their reach.
I guess if you go in with really low expectations, then you can justify a 3 on it
