I have this Hotspot too and we get fast 4g. Paid $100 with $50 rebate.
Quick questions about using a home network with the device (our only internet access – no DSL or cable available):
When multiple computers are networked to the hotspot and you transfer files from 1 pc to another it seems to add to the 5gb internet data limit… does this count as downloaded content using the hotspot as a router?
Is there a way to use this hotspot with a router for easier PC to PC data transfer?
Data transfer over the LAN side should not be counting against your data limits. I'd be looking in to that. Alternatively, use MicroSD as another posted said but that doesn't change the fact that LAN transfers should not be accumulating against your data limits.
Well that is nice it has a micro sd slot (might be good for some shared music over the network- but I bet it adds to the total bandwidth monthy amount it records - will know next bill if you get charged for it)
The worst thing about this hot spot is there seems to be no way to use it with a real wired or wireless router for a large home network.
Looks like I will have to move around usb external hardrives to back up the computers. Still a better option than our only other choice - satelite internet service. It is also nice to pack with you for internet service at airport or hotel - but then no one can get online at home.
