This thing any good?

I bought one of this last month. They used DHL Express Global mail to ship their order from China. I got my box in 3 days... Overall, this box is totally worth the money if you are preparing this for your elderly who don't use computer at all..

I had used this for over a month.. Here's my feedback:

Pros:
1. No monthly fee..
2. Very small and lightweight (1/4 bigger than my Roku)
3. HDMI output and some HD channels
4. They provided many live-stream Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, and Japan live-stream channels. I mean they are "Live" so you have to wake up 6AM PST to watch the show. LOL!
5. Good for elder (parents) who are not computer literate. Remote control works pretty well.
6. They have several movies channels and have thousands of title selections.. Yes, good HD quality.

Cons:
1. You got to use Cat5/Ethernet cable for better user experience.
2. No default Wireless option. *You have to buy extra USB wireless adapter/dongle to get the wireless working..*
3. Channels are depended so-called "third party apps". There's a chance that these "third party app" providers stopped working at any time.. that means your box will stop working since no "software/app/channel" at any time.
4. There's no guarantee to watch "TVB" dramas if you are a big fans.. One of their Apps stopped working in past month (this app supposed to gather alot of Cantonese TVB episodes and it's gone now). They found a replacement APP (but not as good as the old one).. If you are a big fans of TVB dramas/movies, this will be a CON.

I cut my Direct TV ($40/month) last month when I got this box.. We are kind of pleased to made this decision so far. This box is totally worth the money IF WE CAN USE IT FOR ANOTHER 5 MONTHS.

Hope this helps..

What do you mean "if we can use it for another 5 months?"

5 x $40 = $200 = breakeven is my guess.

Hi there, I am having trouble connecting my TV pad wirelessly. I have a USB Wifi adapter at home which I tried to use to connect to the internet. But the TV pad does not seem to be responding to it. Is there a special adapter that I need to buy?

Can't figure out how to get wireless to work either. Anyone know? Plugged in a Wireless Adapter that I use for my computer and it doesn't work.

Review so far: Cancelled my worthless Netflix subscription immediately.

Not all wireless adapters are working in this box. According to the official forum, there's only few wireless adapters are supported. One of them is D-LINK DWA-125. You can get one from Amazon. Here's their forum link: http://www.tvpadfans.com/thread-659-1-1.html (You might want to use Google translate it, it's written in Chinese). Hope it helps.

Yes. Get D-LINK DWA-125. This is like the only one fully supported right now.
