RadioShack has clearance on various USB devices (mostly Gigaware) as well as small trinkets and LEd light up devices. Some examples:
Gigaware PCI-E USB3.0 2port PCI-e card for $10 on clearance. This is an excellent deal as it has an NEC chipset which should mean a considerable performance gain on even old usb 2.0 devices for those with ATI/AMD/Via USB chipsets. I get ~40MB/s on USB 2.0 devices and ~100MB/s on usb 3.0 devices using a similar NEC chipset card. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11208658&filterName=Category
Portable USB hub in certain colors for $6. It has 4 USB ports and a retractable cord. It's about the size of a large swiss army knife. There were other Gigaware USB hubs but none seemed as good a deal as that. http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3802209
They also clearancing a large number of LED and touch devices <$10. There was a dome shaped color changing LED USB hub that has a dry erase surface on it for notes, a comboination package of touch activated lightup things for $3, and various other keychain (Swiss Gear) and pocket lightup devices.
My wife picked up this portable HUB at the B&M about a week ago for the same price. Now we can hook up mulitple microphones to the Wii and rock the neighborhood. It's a descent little device. I'd get another one but can't think of another use for it....

CEO's Opinion At the same time, hilarious and sad. A great place to go for A/V cables before something called "The Internet". I guess you still have to go there to replace the tiny xenon bulb in your handheld flashlight.

No bracket.
I will say that in the past when I needed a custom bracket I just modified a full size one.
When I was poorer I used bent pci slot brackets to mount fans at weird angles inside my case for cooling. Which is ironic because years later I paid >$35 for a Zalman setup that was basically the same thing.

No.
I've got one in my hand, and there are no Internal Data Headers, though there is a Molex 4-Pin Female Socket which needs to be connected to the PSU to supply the additional current USB 3.0 requires.
I am familiar which your problem, though. I hate reaching around the back of my Tower to connect an USB Flash Drive.

I bought the Radio Shack USB 3.0 PCIe adapter card for use n my older Dell desktop running Windows 7 64 bit. After installing the card with power and drivers from the software CD, unfortunately, the PC does not recognize that the card is installed -- even after a hardware device search. Out of curiosity, I plugged in a WD external USB 3.0/2.0 hard drive into this card and it did seem to have power as indicated by a green LED -- card or hard drive were NOT detected by the PC. The hard drive WAS detected and worked fine when I connected it to a std USB 2.0 port.
I picked up the USB 3.0 PCIe adapter card @ RS and just installed in my Compaq Presario SR2010NX running XP SP3. Used a spare power cable which was in the computer and put it in the PCIe 16 slot. Had to run the setup.exe directly from the disk to install the driver but the result was clean. Works fine with a USB2.0 external drive. Next will try it with the new Seagate 3TB USB3.0 drive I got @ Costco for $139.99+.

Any ideas on making it work?
thanks.
I have not opened mine yet, but if there is a Web Site on the enclosed CD, I would try to download updated Drivers.
It is also possible your old Dell needs a BIOS update. They are easy to do for Dells.

Monoprice is an amazing resource for Cables. Every Cable I'm bought from them was Inexpensive, of High Quality, promptly Shipped, and with very reasonable Shipping Fees.
i picked one up also, install was clean and easy, tested with a 16gb patriot flash drive 8gb video file, on usb 2 9:36.81 same drive and file on usb 3 port 9:35 i will test with 1 or 2 gb file for the heck of it

That is why Radio Shack is hanging it's hat on the cell phone hook.
Last time I was in one of their stores for that little light bulb I think I was asked 7 times if I needed a phone upgrade or changes to my account.

Descent device? I still can't find that yellow key ...
Picked up one of the USB 3.0 cards, last one at my local shack, seems pretty decent, found some other stuff clearenced for a decent price as well. One of which was the OEM HP Touchpad case, tag said $19.99, rang up for 9.99. Nice finds for the price if you want to look around the store a little.
Picked up a couple of the USB hubs for $4.97 in MD. So $5.27 out the door.
Didn't see the USB 3 cards there but will look at another RS.
Thanks for the mention on Monoprice for cables Lobbybee (2:27PM 2-24). Had forgotten about them as a source for cables.
The USB hub extends a total of 11 inches - need something to get it up to desktop level or even over the back of the case to make the unit useful. Will work well as a port multiplier for a laptop.

It will depend on the speed of the device. If your device only physically transfers at 10MB/s then it won't matter what you plug it into.
If it can transfer at 20MB/sand you were getting 15MB/s before, then switching to a better controller might help you reach that max 20MB/s.
Also, plugging a USB 2.0 device into a USB 3.0 port will not inherently make the device suddenly transfer faster. What I was referring to in my post was that some USB 2.0 controllers are crap and max out at 15MB/s regardless of device even though the standard and devices go much higher.
Similarly the USB controller in the device itself may be crap too. I've seen external drives that won't get over 20MB/s no matter what USB port they're plugged into.

In Lebanon, IN store, blue was $5.97, whereas black was $4.97. Not sure how color makes blue worth $1 more, but it was.
I don't know if anyone else here will remember this, but three or four years ago RS used to email Computer Component Bargain Sales every week. I picked up an Ultra Black Tower Case, delivered to my local RS, for $9.99. I still use it every day.
I bought three of the USB 3.0 cards - already have a use for two. One spare. I have had experience with NEC vs VIA controllers that Izpoof mentions above and yes, there's a big difference. NEC USB 2.0 cards have been superior or in some cases worked when VIA-based cards would not work at all in some machines. That's what really makes the $9.97 price a bargain; you can get VIA-based cards for about the same price on sale.
I also bought one of the red hubs ($4.97 - no sales tax here in Oregon) even though I have no great need for one.
And I bought a Gigaware 3 Megapixel webcam (with mic) for $12.97 (retails for about $30 shipped on Amazon):
Didn't see this one on their website - maybe an in-store only purchase?
All of my laptops have webcams now but not 3MP webcams; maybe someday this will find a use? Or maybe I'll return it if I change my mind. Kind of an impulse buy...
I picked up 1 of each of these at my local Radio Shack. Upon returning home I noticed the nice you lady who rang me up charged me an extra dollar on each item for an extended warranty.....
