IN 4 1. I also got the matching washer since it was on sale and buying the two together got me another $75 off. $1222 before tax. Add in the $50 rebate you can get here in Northeast Ohio on the washer since it's energy efficient, and I was would the door for $1300 with a $50 rebate on way.

Also, for those interested it may be worth a shot to try PMing Lowe's, and try to get the 10% PM discount. The model numbers are different in the last two characters, but it's the same dryer, just bundled for Lowes and hd. This of course is YMMV, but figured some people may be interested in giving it a shot.

I got the washer/dryer combo just over a ago for 1200+tax.
Haven't seen it anywhere close till now. This is a good price.
Cleans much better than my previous pair.
I am happy with it, however the washer can be rough on the clothes.

Cool, glad to hear this is a good set. Do you have any recommendations on how to maintain this set (like leave the door open after washes etc) and get optimal cleaning? Thanks!

Maytag? Hope you get the extended warranty. Not the most reliable brand.

The reviews aren't all that great on this!

We bought the gas Whirlpool 8600 version of this (made on the same manufacturing line) and it has been great. I would have to say that its been the best dryer that we have owned, so I would recommend it. The main reason why I went with the Whirlpool over the gas version of this Maytag was because the Whirlpool had a better sale promotion at the time of our purchase. At this price its a pretty Slick Deal. Another big plus is that its made in the USA!

My current dryer is a maytag neptune bought in 2000 - built like a tank and works flawlessly - the new samsung washer under a yr old? POS.

Total junk I love Maytag but they screwed up with this total POS there a so many basic problems with these units they should be refunding everyone who purchased these. And fill the junk yard with the remains. You wont be happy I promise. The washer is far worse of the two but still not worth a cent.

What are some of the basic problems with this line? I don't get a new washer/dryers often, and I do know they are better than my previous 8 year old pair.

I don't do anything special with this set. My wife frequently leaves clothes in the washer for up to a day with no issues. That is the advantage of the top loaders.

Ranked pretty low on Consumer Reports list, but it gets good ratings for everything except for noise (which is rated poor).

Would you please post the report? Because I am going to buy this. Thanks.
