Just like the Playbook was going to be $99, I imagine.

Playbook is already free, just got one. It can run android apps, so I am happy now. Love quick office when I can project my ppt using hdmi, do not need to carry heavy laptop and I bet iPad can't do that.

That's like saying, "I have milk and water, but I've never tried coffee before, so I'm skipping it."
Until you've tasted a rooted Android device, you'll never realize just how limited and locked down in proprietary-ness the Ipad is.

It is true, I tried android and windows 7 phone and I do not like android like windows 7 because of the touch and the smooth. However, the windows phone theme is awful to me. I decided to go back to the apple one. You have to try but do not follow others. IF you dont try, you never know.

No go for me - I am looking for Win8 or iPad. Why do I care whether it is rooted or non-rooted? Typical consumer expects things should work out of the box.

I love it when people try to compare rooted Android devices to iOS devices. If Android was so limitless and open, you wouldn't need to root. At the VERY least, compare a rooted android device to a jailbroken iOS device. Not that most people want to root their stuff anyway.

I worked for Sony during the Christmas buying season and The Sony Google TV/ BluRay player did not work most of the time. I am going to guess this unit doesn't either. Sony has lost money for 4 yeaRS AND THE RETURN RATE IS OVER 30%/.

sorry, working as one of santa's elves and pulling stats out of your ass does not qualify you as expert on Sony's business nor this device.
I own the 32gb version. I have owned quite a few other tablets as well. This is easily the best. Great design with some very nice extras. I HIGHLY recommend getting one of these. BTW I normally don't care for Sony products.

I've read several complaints about the fragility of the power connector on the Sony. Any problems there?

BTW I normally don't care for Sony products. My sentiments exactly but I still don't trust Sony with my credit card so I used PayPal at the Outlet. I'm a big xbox fan so this is a radical move but I'm happy that Sony converted my expired ecoupons to $150 GC. If I end up with an iPad just shoot me.
