Didn't read the terms huh?
You must have the service for 60 days, then they mail you the gift card at 90 days.

Where I live in Philadelphia, I'm pretty sure Comcast will do whatever it takes to insure that I'm never able to get FiOS. Makes me sad because I'd love to take advantage of a deal like this.

I had to call retention's to get in as I am already a customer. I just flat out told them I want to disconnect and reconnect to get around the stupid T and C, the retetion rep did it all for me.
NJ pricing:
Previous:
Fios Double Play 35/35 internet, ultimate TV, movie ultimate multi-room dvr and 1 stb @ 121
New: Triple Play 150/35 internet, ultimate tv, movie ultimate, multi-room dvr, 1 stb and Phone unlimited with unlisted service @201 minus $500 visa card
So an extra 80 for Phone and faster internet. Seemed worth to me at basically 6 months free of the extra goodies.

Question for the geeks, with verizons 150/35 internet service what is the bottle neck in my config. I have cat 6, gigabyte networking, all wired. So I assume the bottleneck would be the computers HDD read/write speed or the verizons supplied actiontec router?

Went ahead and signed up a new account for the deal and will cancel my old account before they come out.
Same price as I am paying now, but I get phone service and faster internet, plus the $500 gift card!

You will pay these $300 back to Verizon very fast. It is not $85/month. Read the details. "Plus fees". And those fees are decent size, expect the final bill be almost twice as big as promised price. Not discouraging anyone, just do the math and budget before you sign the contract. Consider the termination fees as well, it is a part of the deal.

There are always + fees taxes at least cablevision did that too, with cablevision my $99 triple play turned into $155/month and then $165/month once the triple play ended and I called up and complained. I switched to fios and got the Triple play Extreme package for $90/month + Showtime, Cinemax, & HBO and free SD STB and a cablecard and 35/35 internet, with tax it comes to $111. Thats much better than my cablevision plan and I have more than I had with cv. I've been on fios for almost 3 months and so far have no complaints.

Classic Verizon BAIT AND SWITCH. Your bill will be 25% higher and messed up every month. There TV includes very basic channels and if you want anything decent to have to pay tons extra. You phones a joke with the taxes doubling the price. NEVER again will I use these crooks. And a contract, forcing you to stay? We're in the year 2012 verizon, not 1980. You need the contract cause you lie to people and your service SUCKS so when they want to leave you they can't. In short get the TOTAL in WRITING (oh that's not possible...) before doing it and you'll be shocked.

The Showtime + Cinemax + HBO package is a limited time freebie (mine was for 6 months, although I think 3 months is "standard") and I believe the same goes for the free STB. I have the same package on a 2-year deal. So your post is misleading. I do agree that FIOS is a generally excellent service, especially if you can get a similar package deal.

It wasn't a freebie, it was Cinemax free for life I think and HBO + Showtime 50% off for the first year (I'll probably drop them or just drop to HBO after that). The free SD Set-top-box is free for life (as long as you maintain the triple play). The price is for 2-years but no contract so I can cancel anytime.

Just an FYI, you have a 30 day free look period from installation date to see if a better deal comes out or to change your package.

Not even close to "twice as big" and ALL cable and phone packages have fees which are really taxes under another name. You must compare apples to apples.
