Any opinions on this suit from people who know fashion... I wear jeans at work but need a decent standby suit. This a decent deal?

Either I'm blind, or ignorant, but how does one select the pants size? Are they adjustable? I assume there is some correlation with the jacket size, but I am nowhere near a 38 waist

EDIT: Found the answer:
"7 inch drop (Subtract 7 inches from your jacket size to determine your pant size) Sizes 46 and 48 have a 6 inch drop"

dark530.. the quality of the suit is really good... it is definitely a classy step up from a normal suit if you're looking at a standby..
I personally think you can pull off the suit just fine for different situations...
The only drawback I would advise is that the pants will have the same sheen as the collar of the jacket and that might look odd for some...

So if I don't know my jacket size, does the other way around work? Add 6 or 7 to the my pant size?

Thanks OP.

Here's another: Kenneth Cole Reaction Suit, Taupe Stripe Slim Fit

Go get measured. Pants are 20x easier to alter than a jacket.

I wouldn't buy a suit without trying it on first.
I wouldn't buy a 100 dollar suit.
I wouldn't buy a solid black suit.
I wouldn't buy a suit made out of polyester.

To each their own. Wearing a suit that looks/fits poorly negates the entire purpose of wearing a suit.

I wouldn't buy a suit without trying it on first. --- take your shirt size and circle the wagon (EG order 2) to find one that fits good, cannot go wrong with return policy
I wouldn't buy a 100 dollar suit. --- For $100 when styles change in 5-6 years you can just buy another, makes sense if used seldomly (Formals, Funerals, Weddings)
I wouldn't buy a solid black suit. --- This is like a woman saying she wont buy a black dress, it is a very traditional color and fits in with other penguins
I wouldn't buy a suit made out of polyester. --- poly not the ideal material however it spot cleans nice and is durable

A suit is more than a neck and a sleeve length, its nothing like picking a dress shirt size. The cut of a suit may fit poorly no matter what size you choose, and for 100 dollars, it probably will.
Good looking traditional suits do not go out of style, you're better off paying for one or two that have been tailored with good material that you can wear forever than having 5 or 6 crappy ones that you're embarassed to wear.
A solid black suit is very inflexible and looks stupid in 90+% of occasions, its nothing like a little black dress, its more like a floor length sequined black dress. Obnoxiously formal and inflexible.

Im all for saving money, but buying inferior suits really does you no justice unless you wear it once a year because you have to in front of people who you don't care what they think of you.

Personally I picked up this light gray one http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/izod-suit-light-grey-stripe?ID=627353&CategoryID=17788#fn=SUIT_STYLE%3DSuit%26sp%3D1%26spc%3D88

I've lost 85 lbs since I bought my last suit and basically winged the size with a measuring tape in my room... you can always return it to any Macy's so why not.

Goodness, you guys started to sound like a woman! Here's an alternative if you don't like black suite.
Taupe Stripe Slim Fit

The suit is polyester. Cheap suit. You can get that deal anywhere.

Stopped by Macy's in San DIego today and they have a bunch of these suits for $104, about 4 different colors (Black, Blue, Taupe, and Grey)

Thanks OP!

Haven't seen this suit but I have NOT been happy with the quality of anything Kenneth Cole that I've bought from Macys. Not sure if that means anything but they seem to have flooded Macys with a bunch of cheap but semi-stylish clothing that lasts through maybe 10 washings. You get what you pay for. This is probably perfect for the once-in-a-while suit.
