I bought mine a week ago at Amazon for $39.99 (Newegg was one or two dollars more at the time).
Activated w/pageplus, and I like it . But I first need to burn through lots of TMobile Minutes before I start using it as a phone.

Not quite as good a deal on the phone but platinumtel (ptel.com) has the pixi for $59.99 and depending on your usage sytle cheaper data on the pay-go plan.

Great little phone. I used it till my son crack the screen. Got used palm pre but don't like it as much. I am going back to pixi if it breaks. I still have $45 left over after 9months with PP. Can't go wrong with Pixi on PP as long as you are not a heavy user. It is $36.99 now.

I love this little phone. Got it on page plus Paid $38 from Newegg Cheapest I have seen.

Dang it. They raised the price a buck? What's up with that?

I've bought a couple of these. My daughter is still using hers. I have moved on to a Pre3 but I still Love WebOS.

Cheers

Good way to connect thru wifi to check email and very light browsing. It's just barely capable for this purpose but enough for my needs. Good for texting. No contract required with PagePlus, which is nice. It's underpowered, so don't expect to use it for lots of Facebook/Twitter type conversations, for that you need an iPhone or Android. It can be overclocked, but that doesn't help it much.

Also has a decent music player. I don't use it as a phone very much because Verizon is terrible in my area and I have to use T-Mobile, but in strong Verizon signal areas it works well enough.

Danged if they didn't. That extra buck actually made a difference to me. I'll gamble and see if it falls again before I buy my pixi replacement.
The seller, unlockedcellphonekings has a 4.8 star rating. wow.

Yeh, it's only a buck, but it bothers heck out of me too. I will wait.

So long as you're ok using the Sprint network.

Page Plus has never been much good for data pricing, and their customer service is ... well, what's below "poor"?
But their minimum-usage plan is unbeatable, their monthly and annual plans are quite competitive - with the benefit of operating on Verizon towers.

Can I just buy it to replace my current broken LG verizonwirelee phone (no data plane)? Or do I have to buy some kind plan? Thanks.

No data plan required on Page Plus.

About this "up to 350 hours (14.5 days) of standby time" can it translates to 3 days of standby in real life ? My Sammy Android phone has to be charge 1-2 days regardless wether I use it or not.

Easily. Tweak with all the settings that pertain to power saving like screen brightness to minimize power consumption.

Got a couple from Daily Steals for $25 or so. They occasionally dip below $30 and are awesome little phones!

I charge my palm pixi plus once a week.
And when I do charge it, I just throw it on the touchstone. It's great.
and the touchstone back cover is only 4 bucks with fss
don't know what a touchstone is gonna cost you.

with data off and just using wifi lightly it is good for 3 days for me. If you turn off data and wifi it would probably be good for at least a week

there's also a preware app to turn on airplane mode at any desired time, like overnight, to save battery.

Dr. Battery seemed to rejuvenate my battery as well, YMMV.

LOL. The price went up again by a cent. Even $37 now.

did anyone know any phone that have
touch screen+ wifi + 3g +web able which can be used on pageplus?

Do you have an option to dial using touch screen dialpad with this? Want to give this to my mom, but afraid the buttons are too small for everyday dialing?

Any other verizon noncontract smartphone deals out there?

Yes, the phone that's the topic of this thread.

Bought two of these on one of the previous deals.

Pros: Cheap. Cheap plans. Great for a non-heavy user.
Cons: Cheap. The phone has weird quirks, power draws, issues with the power flap magnet coming off

Not a bad phone (I think we have had ours for over a year now), but not high-quality. Get the Touchstone (accessory for charging)! I would buy again, though I would at least investigate other non-contract smart phone options.

Yeh, that little metal piece from the flap came off on mine too (Touch stone cover). I gluded it back on but eventually lost it. Also, the rubber outer shell on the back cover got detached. I had to buy a new cover. That is just about the only negative thing I can say about the phone.

The price creeping up slowly. It is now $37.36.
I wonder if it will go down again.

It's down to $35.28. Better grab one before it goes back up.

I had a Pixi Plus for a while. I really like the phone and the OS. There were a few problems: The screen is too small for any real internet browsing, and the keyboard is crazy loud when you're trying to type fast. I got free hotspot when I used it, so it took care of most the browsing problems, but I quit using the phone because I felt like I couldn't type out a message in the office where I worked because it was so loud

I like my Pixi but no one makes a good cheap case for this that fits in your pocket. I used flip phones for years that were somewhat protected from things like lint, dirt and keys in your pocket. I fear one day I will bump into something and the screen will be destroyed.

Maybe time to pick up another one while they are so cheap

I own this for almost a year now activated with Page Plus as a backup phone. I have another Android phone as primary. I can say that compare to my Android which has faster processor but when I play Angry bird on it, for whatever reason it seems slower than the Palm pixi one. But than I find it so difficult to find lot of free basic software. A simple example would be a voice recorder. I can't find a single application that works with its webOS version. Does anyone has similar experience.

WebOS is like abandonware. There's a lot lacking in the app department to unlock its capabilities.

This phone also has a fairly high SAR rating for its usefulness, so for those which this is an issue there are downsides. This is NOT the "poor man's iPhone" as some have suggested.

A Warning..

It is almost impossible to dial a number on this phone while you are driving.(In my state it is not against the law)So if you are driving a lot, FYI.
I recommend paying around $75-80 and getting a droid incredible..

You know, there are things, it's worth paying more because it saves you time in long term, this deal is one of them.Price is good but it comes with hassle and problems.I'd rather use a basic phone hard button phone instead of this one.

$48.95 now, on the day I need a phone.

The person who buys this phone usually knows what s/he is getting. It can play youtube, music, go on the web, email, messaging,go on facebook, and most importantly it can make phone calls!

If a person is willing to splurge, i'd also get the touchstone and the touchstone cover (maybe a total of $6 not including any possible shipping charges) because the regular cover begins to fall apart, especially around the charging port area.

Thanks for finding that rugsucker. I'm not sure of the site myself. My current palm pixi + probably has another month or two in it so I'll keep checking Amazon. I'm planning on getting another PP+, which will last me another year on those knockout pageplus prices. And another year of enjoying webOS.
