webOS is VERY good, IMO....
added ICS a couple days ago (upgraded from CM7), and i am much happier with android now
CM7 was pretty crappy (because of android, not because of the mod)

agreed
i was getting annoyed with all the praise of the touchpad from the fire sale...
paid 210 instead of 150...so that stinks, but well worth it IMO

Anyone else having problems with CM9 and flash? It causes my TP to go into a boot loop I can only get out of by booting into webos then back into android.

WebOS is still my favorite mobile operating system, although Ice Cream Sandwich does seem to have made Android feel modern (for once).

agreed.....
ICS is much more comfortable
IMO
WebOs>Ios>ICS
but it is a very close race IMO...
FWIW, i dont think i would pay the 'premium' for an Ipad again (i got a refurb for 320)....ICS is just about as good, IMO
most people would be VERY happy with a touchpad running ICS, IMO (especially when they get the camera fixed)

WiFi on ics decided to quit working, installed newest cm9 no go, reset factory defaults worked for a minute. Someone recommended turning WiFi off then on in webps , tried it and it worked once, never again. Webos I'd nice but apps are limited

Had problems with ICS, getting stuck in a boot loop then installing nightly then wifi not working or another boot loop. To fix the boot loop, go into clockwork, reset to factory default, clear Cache and dalvik Cache (under advanced), install latest cm9 from zip, reboot, let it install, sign in with google. At some point during the automatic app download/restoration wifi would crap out on me. One of the apps I have installed is a terminal emulator, opened that then "su root" now "rm /data/misc/wifi/*" apparently android doesn't like rm -rf so I had to delete the last files explicitly. This fixed things for a little bit, then wifi stops working. Pretty annoying.
Just stopped working again, removed wifi directory, rebooted, got stuck in boot loop, booted into webos then back into ics and works now. Changed router to channel 4, see if that works not.

Set you wifi router to channel 4, works everytime for me. I had problem like you before. youicide said: WiFi on ics decided to quit working, installed newest cm9 no go, reset factory defaults worked for a minute. I think the WebOS interface is very nice. I like it better than any other one. I really dig their card concept. Right now, I have it dual boot with CM7 and works pretty stable so far.

After several rounds of clearing caches and reinstalling cm9 I finally deleted the wifi directory (rm -r /data/misc/wifi) rebooted and ics has been working fine all day. Flash works also where it hadnt before. Pain in the ass for sure, but I must admit the touchstone dock is really cool and makes it worth the headaches (almost).

I totally agree. I am glad that I got the TouchPad during the firesale and that it runs Ice Cream Sandwich so well. That being said, not having a working microphone or camera (they work in WebOS but not Android) is a pain. At this price, I would pass on the TouchPad and spend another $20 to get a tablet with a working mic and cameras.

It was a good deal a year ago with firesale etc when tablets were in $400+ range.. This is a pretty sucky deal now.
The screen resolution is average. Camera resolution is pathetic.. Build quality is sub par. VERY limited APPs on WebOS. ICS is ok, but still has few glitches and quirks.. The device itself is thick/heavy and hard to hold.
Unbelievable that people are still willing to pay $200+ for this crap. You can get refurb xooms or acers for 20 more..
Got a brand new one for $200(just $25 more than the firesale after taxes and fees in CA) on craigslist and sold it off to the next fool for same price. I couldn't wait to get one after the whole praises around the firesale time.. But the device was just too pathetic..
Just got a samsung Tab for $75 more on sale and it rocks in comparison.. You WILL regret touchpad purchase in few months for sure..
