I usually pay $10 for the steak, fries, and salad. How is this a deal of any sort? I guess because I'm paying $2 to eat their mini apple pie things?

can anyone confirm this deal will work in the bay area?
For 12 bucks the outback special is pretty damn good. I usually pig out after Ryan Newman wins a race and I get a free bloomin onion...
Onion + bread + loaded baked potato + house salad + steak + beer for <20 out the door.
The shrink ray is pretty annoying though... portions seem to get smaller by the month, probably have shrunk in half over past 5-10 years.
I've read in several health articles that your steak should be the size of a deck of playing cards. It's pretty hard for me; it's more like torture because after the first few bites, I always want more.

I think the accounting department, not the nutrition department at Outback is setting the portion sizes.

Whoa, those calories add up fast....just fyi, no hassle. "Onion 2000cal + bread 350cal + loaded baked potato 400cal + house salad 350cal + steak 500cal + beer150cal = 3800cal..... for <20 out the door."

I saw this advertised on the table the other night when I was there. This is no deal. It cost $9.99 for the 6 oz. steak, salad, and potato. So you're paying $2 extra so you can have the beignets.

Sorry but the steak in that picture doesn't look very appetizing. It isn't going to bring me in for the deal. I'm sure they had to show what it is but Outback's Marketing department could have done better IMHO.

Or...if you skip the *onion*, limit the bread/dressing, and get veggies as your side you can be well under 1000. If memory serves the 6 oz sirloin by itself is only ~350cal and veggies are <100. All depends what you're going for. I like to sub Cheesy fries for my side (only $1.25 more).
Keep in mind the 6oz outback special (this meal but without dessert) is 10 bucks. Oddly, even in NYC they have it for $10. $2 difference for a small dessert is a pretty good deal.

Who eats one serving of anything? A serving of oreos is two cookies.

Doesn't the offer include a "loaded" baked potato (as shown in the ad)? I think they cost more than the regular one.
edit: Just looked on the menu. Nevermind.

Its not the steak that will kill you but the potato
