yep, these things aren't that cheap. price them elsewhere.

Seriously, eBay? That is so back in the day....

Your elder has to have the organizational powers to do this monthly or someone else needs to do that for them. Plus, an item with 30 separate containers to keep track of means that a person with memory problems, such as myself, will have great month-to-month difficulty keeping track of those 30 containers.

Much better in my opinion are the week-at-a-time pill boxes which are contained in a single unit. If you're concerned that someone won't take their meds because they are forgetful this is as likely to make the problem worse than better as it increases the number of discrete items which the patient needs to keep track of when the goal should really be decreasing that number where possible.

obviously, but I don't agree that the week to week are better necessarily. It's time consuming to lay out/organize the pills for a caregiver or the patient. much easier to do it in a 30 day cycle than 4-5 times a month. But if someone is with the person to help them, I fail to see how it makes the problem worse. An elderly person with memory issues isn't going to remember to take their meds whether it's in a 7 day container or 30 day. think you are making a lot out of nothing here.

How is having to remember and fill, 4x a month better than 1x a month? It seems to me that remembering and doing something once a month, say the first of every month would be a lot easier than every week. IMHO

Here's a Kickstarter idea - an automated pill dispenser... you set the times and days, and it emails you if the pills aren't taken.

"Hot elderly parents"? Hmmm...

I preferred the electronic one that would alert and automatically open when time. They ran about 300$.
If this works, great, otherwise a more advanced one may be necessary.

You'd think pharmaco's would give these out for free, they'd make money in the long run. Something about reducing people to lab rats pressing on a bar for pills. It's easy to knock until you're actually there, when it comes time to go almost nobody wants to.

I must appreciate the fact that the first three words of the topic current read. "HOT Elderly Parents"
