Found this yesterday while killing time at Best Buy. It said "On Sale" from $199.99 to $49.99, asked the manager and was told yes, that was the sale price and it's not on clearance. I checked another store and verified that it's also $49.99 there. The reviews may not be favorable but it can be a good secondary bedroom 3D blu-ray player. It still shows $199.99 on their website and will come down to $129.99 during checkout. SKU is 2066466 and model number is BD-HP35U.

Never buy a "SHARP" product again after my TV gave up on the 365th day and they did not want to do anything - "you should have purchased extended warranty" was the only comment of CS. Never sharp ever for me.

No go at the Costa Mesa store in Orange County, CA. I stopped by about an hour ago and the unit rings up $129.99 at the register.
By the way, every non-3D Blu-ray player is marked "Clearance" but nothing really special about their price.

one thing about best buy is they're going to give you the lower price even if you ordered online. if the store price is lower, they will charge you the lower price and if the online price is lower, same thing. i guess in this case, calling the store to verify price is ok since this item is on sale and not on clearance.
Based on the reviews I've seen, I'm not sure it's worth even $50...

Picked one up yesterday in Fort Lauderdale I saw that reviews were not that great, but I have not seen any 5 star rating players either. For $50.00, with the light, 1-2 times per week use, it should suit my needs....and wallet just fine.

Thanks OP. Only had a display unit left in the entire city, but for $50 I decided why the heck not. Works fine, firmware update was easy.
Yes, the user interface looks cude and you have to wait a second or two between button presses, BUT it plays all the .avi and xivd files I threw at it, including directly playing off of USB. This alone kick the snot out of my beautiful looking but file restricted Panasonic player that cost me twice as much. Yup, the Panasonic is now in collecting dust in a closet until I get a TV in the bedroom.

link not working I searched for the Sony BDP S580 and it's no longer available I think it's OOS BTW, the Sony website is rendering very slowly (it sux)
