My SERO TP2 will live forever...

I love my HTC Touch Pro 2 and my Sprint SERO $30, but for me it's almost time to jump ship. I am on the list for this summer release of Republic Wireless $20 all you can eat and a new high end android.

I hate to leave SERO but I refuse to be forced into upgrading to $50 SERO just to get a new phone. Loved you SERO while I had you but you leave me no choice.

With Republic Wireless and my usage I will not see any difference in coverage as it is on Sprint's network, and the upgraded VOIP while at home.

Me too. Hate to leave SERO, and the TP2 is still a fairly decent phone, but Android is where it's at. I tried the AT&T $30 monthly plan this month as a tester to jump ship to GSM phones. It's just as fast and good as Sprint, with the added benefit of being able to simply pop in a SIM card when I'm overseas.

Throw us SERO folks a bone Sprint. There can't be that many of us left. And with AT&T's $30 monthly unlimited data plan, and the forthcoming Republic Wireless $20 deal, it doesn't make sense to bump up to a $50/mo. plan to stay on Sprint. Is anyone at Sprint listening?

No profit. No listen

Uh, yeah. How much EXACTLY do you think is costs Sprint to provide me with about 2GB data and about 20 minutes talk time a month? Been to Europe lately?

The low-cost all-you-can-eat plans are rolling out right now. Just a matter of time before Americans start realizing that they are getting screwed on cell phone costs.

Somebody on FW saying "you get what you pay for"? If that were true, there'd be no Fat Wallet.

Anyhow, very illuminating "usadaytrader" and "optical". Thanks for the links to the resources that support your opinions. You guys are great sources of information.

I have had my share of Samsung issues, but most recent HTC evo has been great..

The last time I got an upgrade at Sam's Club they took care of the activation, but I don't know where they have priced this phone...199$ I'm guessing.

HTC smartphones clear US customs despite ban
FAST PASSAGE:HTC’s phones were expected to languish in customs for up to three weeks, but their rapid clearance bodes well for the firm’s bottom line
By Lisa Wang / Staff reporter

In a twist to the US’ import ban on various HTC Corp (宏達電 smartphones, the company yesterday said some of its products blocked by US customs because of patent-infringement concerns had been allowed to enter the US market after passing the customs’ review.

“Some of our products have passed the review and have been delivered to our telecoms operators’ clients in the US,” HTC said in a statement submitted to the Taiwan Stock Exchange yesterday.

The Taoyuan-based handset maker’s statement came after two of its flagship mobile phones, HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE, were prevented by US customs from entering the country after the US International Trade Commission ruled late last year that HTC had infringed on a Crucial patent held by Apple Inc.

“The company is closely working with the US customs to speed up the review,” HTC said in the statement. “The company is confident that the problem will be resolved soon.”

The US customs’ review went faster than a possible three-week examination estimated by Jeff Pu (蒲得宇, who tracks the handset industry for Fubon Securities (富邦證券, and that means the ban could have less impact on HTC’s revenue this quarter.

Originally, Pu expected US customs could spend up to three weeks checking HTC’s products, resulting in a reduction of 10 to 15 percent in the company’s revenue this quarter.

HTC, the world’s No. 5 smartphone maker, told investors last month that it expected revenue to grow 55 percent quarterly to NT$105 billion (US$3.55 billion) this quarter, recovering from a product transition period.

Last quarter, HTC’s shipments dropped 17 percent to 7.68 million units, compared with 9.3 million units in the previous year, because of competition from Apple Inc and Samsung, according to market researcher Gartner Inc’s statistics.

What??? Still no phone yet! If I better get this soon before I drop this for the S3.

Im thinking of the Galaxy Nexus by Samsung, Any comments on it?

Get iPhone 4S. Just kidding....

Nexus is a nice phone, it will get updates before any other phone since it is a flagship android.

No phone here. Thinking about dropping it also for G3S

Thanks for the BofA add it up tip- will be using that to order EVO LTE tomorrow (BofA also says Sprint will give free activation now until 6/7 through the add it up for EVO). I believe you can also use WIREFLYBLUE83 coupon code in conjunction with all these to get a free bluetooth headset with your purchase. Thought about GS3, but heard camera isn't as good (essentially GS2 camera)- plus I love sense over touch wiz and build quality trumps the samsung's plastic. I'm waiting until tomorrow just in case they drop the EVO price with the start of the GS3 pre-orders- fingers crossed

OOPs- looks like the free activation is only for new lines and add a lines, not upgrading existing- I'm stuck with the $36

SALE: FREE ACTIVATION from Sprint for 4 days only! New activations and add a lines only. For a limited time only, purchase a phone with plan from 6/4 – 6/7 and receive free activation.

How much is the Fat Wallet Cash Back for buying the EVO LTE from Wirefly?

Samsung and HTC dominate the Android market. The sales of HTC have been rocketing with the release of HTC one..

Had my Sprint Evo LTE for about 2 weeks now and liked the phone a lot. At one point, I was thinking of returning it to get the S3 thinking that screen is going to be much better. The Evo LTE Super LCD looks great and processor is very snappy. I compare it to the retina on the iphone 4S and while retina does seem to show better color contrast but the Super LCD is beautiful in its own ways. The larger screen I'm sure it's one of the factors.

3G is actually quicker than my 3G on the older Evo 4G which tells me the processor made a difference.

As for the size of the phone, I'm starting to have a hard time using it with one hand for some operations. I think there's certainly a limit of how big these smartphones can get before it's not really usable. On the other hand, the larger size is a welcome when I use for Google maps.

I was wondering the same. Screen are getting bigger and bigger and certainly not so comfortable with the pockets. But, that's the trend these days! The "huge" iphone display 3.5" is almost obsolete.
