Bike sizing is confusing...sometimes they refer to wheel size and sometimes frame size... a 24" or 26" bike sold at Target is based on wheel size, and might be ok for you (go sit on one), but a 22" frame size is too big.
Good luck! SteveG

Common mountain bike sizes are 17", 19", 21". Usually that is based on the top tube length of the bike.
If you see the size listed at 26", it is referring to the wheel size. The two common wheel sizes are now 26" and 29" for mountain bikes.

Or not. Usually either from the ground or the center of the crank to the top of the seat tube. That way you can roughly judge the standover height. See here.

Discount now applies to small size (16") for $234 total after the promo code. Tempting, I need a beater bike for around town and the occasional off-road trail. Any idea if 16" fits a 5'5" male?
