If you buy the device from WalMart, you get 1GB for $20 instead of 500MB.
Alternatively, you can get 200MB per month for free for 1 year with NetZero or 500 MB for $9.95. Device is the same price, but shipping and handling is $20. However, NetZero uses the Clearwire 4G network, so available coverage may be an issue.

This has been their price for years... how was your coma?
They will be releasing new plans at the end of this month though which include 4G.
