If you are looking for a travel zoom and are not holding out for GPS (zs20) don't like Canon (260) and don't have $7M for the Sony, then this is a nice camera. It is a ZS20 without GPS.

clich here for staplink

If anyone finds it cheaper, feel free to post away and I will slink away in shame.

Giving up GPS saves $40 (zs20 goes for $290 @ Amazon) on a feature you're going to disable anyways to save battery life...

You can take another $30 off with a coupon: $220 + Tax - FC and FS

Costco also has the zs19 at this price, at least in-store...saw it there yesterday.

Last week the zs20 dropped to 269 at Amazon several times. I was able to get one at that price.

Tried this and Staples rejected - they said only one dollars off coupon per sale. The $249 figure comes from a dollars off coupon when you check out.

Curious --- gonna use the GPS? I don't think I would, but might pay $20 for the feature for down the road...

My order went through and the confirmation has both coupons/discounts.

Both coupons worked for me as well. Bought a $30 off $150 coupon for $2 on eBay for a total discount of $67.50. Good deal.

I have a ZS7 from a couple of years back. I believe it was the first model to have GPS.
I played with it a bit and to "ME" it was useless.

For example I was in Paris and it would label everything within' a mile of the Eiffel Tower as "Eiffel Tower".
It worked this way for any of the other landmarks.

Combine with the battery drain and I simply had zero use for it. Turned it off and haven't bothered with it since.

how is the audio on this one?? i read that the older models actually had better audio recording quality...any info about this?
is it stereo?
any audio in port for connecting a mic?

Thanks!

Almost every reviewer has said that the GPS feature should be turned off on the ZS20 to improve battery life. Given that situation, the ZS19 is a good purchase.

negative on the audio in...not in this class.
