Good deal with free shipping, thanks BB. To my knowledge this is made in the same factories as Silver Bear. In for 50.

I have never used this ammo, but found a law enforcement review from 2010. Looks like they
had good results.

Decided to give it a shot. 400 rounds for a hair under $100.

Ever use this ammo BB?

Free shipping on Ammo? Awesome!

I have a bunch of this stockpiled but have yet to try any. Anyone have any experience with it?

It's Silver Bear to the letter. There's a general consensus that MFS & Silver Bear essentially have an interchange type agreement. In fact, there's a general consensus that even though MFS is a Hungarian company known for making pretty decent brass cased handgun ammunition, this .223 is actually made in Russia at Silver Bear and they just forge the MFS headstamp on it.

Same chrono, same bimetal jacketed ammo, same case.

I'm not saying it's good or bad, but just letting people know this is Silver Bear so they know what to expect.

p.s. - Free shipping on ammo is pretty rare, as most know, so if your AR likes Silver Bear, this seems like a good price.

I have some of this and used it alongside some PMC and Federal at an outdoor range. I thought of the .223 ammo I used, this was better performing than PMC and Federal (and the PMC and Fed were less expensive stuff) WRT accuracy on my AR.

On the downside, it has a steel core and the indoor range near my home will not let me use it.

Finally got out and put 100 rds of this ammo thru the AR yesterday. No problems. Fed, fired and ejected without a hitch. This was in a 6 year old bushmaster.

I haven't used zinc plated zmmo before. Can it damage your AR? I mean if you keep it pretty clean this is good stuff for just practicing and such, right? I store bronze/reloadable Federal/PMC and have shot w/ them. I just am unsure about zinc/cheaper rounds. Any suggestions with this kind?

The Zinc plated shell casings shouldn't be an issue. The "problem", that is argued by some, is the bimetal bullet that they use. That "can damage" your barell. I really haven't seen any issues using it. I wouldn't put it thought a $1500+ barell, but I put it down my AR and XCR barells all day long without worrying.

Ok, great, thanks for the info!

Thanks BB

Well...5 days later, no shipping notice. So, I sent an email to Palmetto State Armory this morning. No reply as of 5:00pm CST. Anyone else order and take delivery yet?
Thanks,
MootyMan

I ordered 500 rounds and got them within a few days...haven't shot any yet though.

Delivered today. Look forward to trying them out.

Mine took a little over a week.

FYI price movement: "Price is Equal to $5.20/20rd box!"
