It's far from a "steal".

It's ok, it's cheap tools severely overpriced at $200. $50 is ok but not great.

I am wondering the same thing? Any reviews?

3 on the Lowes site

If it is a indeed a decent metal toolbox, this is a great deal. Scored one in central Florida

thanks but i want to wait for cheaper

Website down for maintenance.

Full price for both items in CT.

I just looked and in Milford CT it's on sale.

Wow... these seem to be priced all over the place.

92 piece for 199 next to a 173 piece for 49.75 next to a 227 piece for 199.98. What?

I'll keep my craftsman.

Stores around me that have this in stock price is $50. It will show full price if item is not in stock. See if other stores in your area have them.

Out of 6 store near me only 2 had them in stock and I am picking one up today.

Read the reviews people! Seems these are sub par quality - even for homeowner use. Sounds like more hassle than it's worth. Buy a Craftsman set and be done with it!

great price, if I didn't have a duplicate already, Id be on it.

If anyone interested, Brooklyn NY and Jersey City NJ have in stock at $50

This deal is luke warm. 199.99 is way way way way to much for this set. 49.99 is still a bit much.

If you're Chicago area, Jewel/Osco (Albertson's chain)this week has $10 grocery coupon for $100 gift cards that include Lowes so if you're gonna buy this tool set, you might as well get the gift card from Jewel first to get $10 in free groceries.

Both Jersey City and Brooklyn now showing the 199 price... boo

got one for around the office. I agree with other that they are only all right tools but should be fine for less demanding work and $40 is fair. Not great but fair since they do have Lowes lifetime guarantee which I've use for their crappy tools in the past. They will replace your old crap with new crap without complaining.

Half of there stuff is made in China also.
Last time I was in Sears the Salesman let loose that the higher ups are considering changing the walk in replacements to 1.)None, no replacements at all. 2.) Mail it in. 3.) Chinese tools

All you have is rumor from a Sears drone. Sears can't change their warranty after I buy it, it's a contract! I have never been denied warranty claim on Craftsman. People with Kobalt are being denied due to misuse.

Sears can do what ever they want with the warranty. yes it's a contract, but what are YOU going to do about a 15 dollar wrench or 3 dollar socket? File a law suit?

Supposedly one in ROcky River, OH location. Not getting it myself.

Picked one up at a Lowe's in Columbus, OH. Steel box is very nice and probably worth $50 itself. Tools are decent (not super cheap, but also not Craftsman). I think this is a good deal and I am happy with my purchase.

I agree. Mark it waaaay up, then down 3/4. Sears, BB and JC Penney should try this. Might help w/ their issues.

Sears is very close to bankruptcy, you can bet all rules will change then even though they are the best warranty for now...

Harbor Freight has a LT warranty on their hand tools. Don't flame me. They're not bad. I have mostly snap on $ crapsman. But HF is great for stocking a vac home w/ guaranteed tools on the cheap.

There was a time when Kobalt was decent quality on par with Craftsman. Now they are slightly better than the Stanley stuff sold at WalMart and you can actually take stuff back to WalMart when you break it. I have heard horror stories about trying to get replacement Kobalt tools.Personally I would go for Craftsman or better just because a broken tool in the middle of a project causes a lot of extra hassle imo.

Haven't used much of the kobalt wrenches but personally i feel their ratchets are great as well as their sockets. Have never had any problems with them. I would buy them again. This is a good deal if someone needs a set.

5 at the 2 stores on Dale Mabry in Tampa, FL

$50 should be the everyday price for these.

Both $50 sets are available at Largo, MD Lowes. Grabbing the 173 piece set. I have some Kobalt tools at home, and while not great, they're fine. I sure wouldn't pay full ratail for either of the two sets, but for the $50 it's a steal.

"Professional" - that's a good one.
