I love the fact that these 32gb Touchpads sold new for $150 last summer (if you could find one), now the refurbs are $209?

$150 was a ridiculous fire-sale price. HP should be ashamed. I was lucky to buy 6 of these for $150 each and resell them on the 'bay @ $300. They were easily worth $300 last summer.
At $209 this is a nice price for a nice device, if the condition is right.

Green for the update. A few months ago I tried unsuccessfully to jump on the refurbs available from HP's site. The hardware is decent wrt price---Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-CPU at1.2GHz, 1024 x 768 XGA, Light sensor, accelerometer, magnetometer-compass, gyroscope, 6802.11 a/b/g/n wireless LAN--- But the future of WebOS is nil. My plan was to install CM9 (ICS). Unfortunately, CM9 for TouchPad hasn't changed much since then. Significant technical challenges have prevented the implementation of camera, bluetooth, and video functions. So I'm going to wait and see if those challenges can be met. In the mean time, those who had similar ICS dreams and were able to get these at firesale prices may give up and dump them, thereby driving the price down even further.

Plus those who are waiting for a possible Windows 8 on their Touchpads (like me)

i have ice cream sandwich 4.0.3 running on this with alpha 3. bluetooth works and video works great with Netflix and Hulu Plus. no camera but on such a large device you look ridiculous taking photos... maybe you need it for Skype. anyway this is a great device with a lot of developers working on it... will also get android 5.0 jellybean on this when it comes out because they are developing an update for this as well. also windows 8 update. this is a great investment.

Quick question for you: I also have 4.0.3 installed on my touchpad recently and found
1. Mic is not working properly.
2. Doing reboot will go to shutdown, have to press and hold power button again to get it rebooted.
Do you have the similar issues or know the solution for it?
Thanks!

Who (or Where) is working on a Windows 8 port?
BTW - you should try the nightlies (CM9) much better than alpha 3..

"But dont forget those who are happy with Gingerbread" Excellent point, green for you too, KayK. But isn't Gingerbread what the Nook Color is for?
Really? I really like the OS. I bought one a few weeks before they announced they were killing it. Promptly returned it. I liked it really well, but couldn't stomach having paid $400 for a dead OS.

Whoops... still a few people who are mad about the whole fire sale thing I see. Don't hate the player...
I kept one of the 6 I bought and have been using it for the last year. Patched-up and overclocked this is a great device, and well worth $209 imo.

ahsq said: own one, the OS really sucks.
time to swing Android!!I have more complaints about Android than WebOS.... Real issue isn't the OS I'd say, it's the apps available. Annoying to not being able to use Netflix without Android loaded too.
Personally I think $209 for a refurb at this point is too much. Maybe 6 months ago... Not easy to compare to secondary markets, but still, they sell starting around $225 shipped for new units on eBay.

WebOS : Very stable OS. Not too many apps though Gingerbread : Stable. Uses much more battery than webOS. Lots and lots of apps. Not as "fluid" as webOS. Ice Cream Sandwich : Not really stable. Uses more battery than Gingerbread. Same number as apps as Gingerbread. Least stable of the 3 versions.

Have you been installing the nightlies, or are you still running off of the ancient "full" release they put out a couple months ago.

For both, the camera doesnt work.. brattery drain is an issue, and they dont look "native" and fluid to the Touchpad like the webOS does.

Shocked people still interested in TP at this price. I love mine running CM9 nightly more than WebOS and enjoyed this.the past year. So i got my $150 worth.
Save your $200 and pay 300ish for refurb asus, xoom samsung etc. June prices will drop and give great bang for buck. Even ipad 2 refurb isnt a bad value and i hate apple.
