"Like the non-3D LC-80LE632U, the LC-80LE844U features a full-array LED backlight with 240Hz, but it misses out on local dimming found on the smaller 945 series."
Great, so I pay a premium price, but don't get features that even the cheaper versions have. Garbage "deal."

Expect the price to depreciate another $1,300 to $3,000 within the next 6 months. Wait...wait...wait.
Soon you will be able to paint a whole wall into a TV (no projector needed)... So hold your breath if you can...

They've had a 108" model for like 4 years. Jimmy Fallon show uses one on-set.

You can buy a top of the line Epson HD front projector and 80" screen for half of that.

I'd never leave the living room if I had this! Unfortunately, we have been striving to drastically cut our power bill so the 370W usage would be detrimental to us.....

4 sold over 12 hours. I guess there aren't a lot of impulse buyers for a $4200 80" TV...what's happening to this country?

It's a good price but it will keep going down in the next couple months. I think too many people have already bought 32 inch LEDs that they didn't need and didn't save up for the big one haha.
Of course, this would be great to use as a GPS in my Hyundai, too bad it doesn't have a touch screen.

Well, you could always leave it turned off and stare at the glossy blackness of it. Or have dinner parties to show it off, and then tell people you don't really watch it that often because you're used to the "big" TV at your vacation home.

have all the real estate to mount this beast but not the dollah...my 4 year old Sharp LC65D64U is still going strong, love Sharp TV's. Given the 80" screen, viewing distance is of paramount importance since resolution is still 1080p. Believe me, you don't want to be sitting anything closer than 15 ft from this monster.
