Yeah, you're quite misinformed. The foie gras ban isn't the work of the "food police" as you might put it, or what most of us call public health advocates. It was animal welfare advocates.
So like I said...hyperbole, much?

So like I said...hyperbole, much? Doesn't sound like hyperbole to me. With millions of people potentially affected by bans in places like NYC, over things as simple as salt, cola, milk, even popcorn.

Was able to use the print out again today no Problem for the Ham, BTW the footlong ham is $5 so if the print out does not work get the footlong and eat half now and half later. But then again with the $5 Chicken footlong special this month I would rather have that.

Went to my local Subway for lunch. It was a special treat since I always pack a PJ sandwich. I asked the lady behind the counter if her store was participating in the $2 sandwich deal and she said yes. Got the Black Forest ham with Pepper Jack cheese and every topping. When she was finished making the sandwich, she turned toward the soda machine and asked "what would you like to drink?" When I told her nothing, I'm good, and rang me up for $2 and looked at me like I was stealing the sandwich. When I was leaving, another guy walked in and asked if the store had the $2 deal.
It was a hell of a sandwich for $2

Ok, I had to look it up. I'm not old enough to remember "Gone with the Wind". Nobody is.

I often wonder if I'm getting the same "stealing the sandwich" look when I drive thru McDonald's and buy $1 Sandwiches, with no soda.
Though after I eat the Oil-Change Greasy "Pink Slime" burger and Sahara-Dry "Mechanically Separated" chicken patty, I wonder if the meal was such a bargain after all.
(Not even mentioning the Fries, which at one time were beyond wonderful. But now are both "Trans-Fat" and "Flavor-Free". I'd as soon toss them as eat them.)

So where was the bait? And what was the switch?
If they weren't participating, they weren't participating!
Subway doesn't dictate pricing and specials for its franchises, they only recommend. Just like McDonalds, burger king, etc.

Even better, my local Subway has no restriction on what FREE FOOTLONG you can choose. With me, the Free Footlong is the Philly Cheese Steak.

OK, if you either live or are on vacation in Puerto Rico (there are over 200 Subway stores all over the Island, almost as many as McD and BK combined), check out our equivalent to this offer (which has been on the menu for several months already). Just check for whatever Subway franchise (YMMV, of course) has the "ESTAS PELA'O? (ARE YOU BROKE?)" sign.
They'll serve you a Grilled Chicken Breast 6"er on any bread available, even on a wrap (you can have 2 offers for a footlong) for $2.14 ($2 + 7% IVU/sales tax). You just pay for any extras (avocado, bacon, xtra cheese, combo upgrade...) and they won't force you to buy any size drink to get the offer.
IMHO, this is the best offer ever for Subway in the Island (they have been here since the mid '80s)...

Go HERE and try the Order Online Links for Subway's near you. Even if you are not planning to order, you can compare prices of your favorite sandwiches.
Near me I found the Kids' Pak selling for $2.99, $3.99, $4.50, and $5.00 - Quite a difference !

I wonder how accurate the online prices are. My local store (Levittown, PA) is still running the $2 sub special but the online price is $3.25

No problem. Just ask them to adjust the price in store.
Of course, PRINT out the order before you go there, to prevent misunderstandings. This is good advice regardless of the merchant.

All the Subways I've seen in Phoenix have $2 meatball and cold cut for their special. I order just the sandwich for a great, inexpensive lunch. Since the July promo also seems to be a meatball sandwich, I wonder if they're going to extend the deal next month.
I have not seen this deal in MD - but they are offering ft long chicken for $5- can anyone please comment - tia

I have both the June and July deal posted on the first page. Main difference is the Ham is on for June only and is replaced with those yum yum Meatballs like Mama used to make.(not)
I have posted print the coupon it should work. Most stores do not know what month it is never mind what promos are out there

Well I just used the $2 coupon and it was good that I had it cause the one girl did not want to give it to me. The other Girl stepped in and made sure I got it. I always tip one lady but not the other so I think that had something to do with it. I hate the one girl and try to avoid her as much as I can. also got the $5 Footlong Roasted Chicken for my son and gave my survey receipt for a for Cookie. I ate the 6 inch ham my son ate the foot long and the Cookie. BTW I took the Cheese on the side and the Hot Peppers and she gave my a lot more hot peppers than I would have eaten in 6 sandwich's.
