It IS true that you can get Windows 8 for $15. Whether or not it is an "upgrade" is a different question.

Very similar machine for sale in Newegg... all day long for at least a month. It has no discrete graphics card, but it comes with 8gb.
And it's $450.
So I'm not impressed with this offering. There should be better deals on I5s very soon...

Good deal if you don't want to mess around with building one. I don't like the 4gb of ram though..

Search Newegg for I5 machines and it's right there.

If you break it down like this:
Core i5 3450 $149 (Microcenter) Z77 Motherboard $110 Windows 7 Premium $99 Case + 350Watt PSU $80 4GB ddr3 ram $20 500GB HDD $80 Total = $540 This is not including mouse and keyboard + bluetooth 4.0 + DVD burner + 1 yr warranty. Not a bad deal.

I was thinking of this onefor comparison purposes: HP Pavilion p7-1267c (QW785AAR#ABA) Desktop PC Intel Core i5 2400(3.10GHz) 8GB 1TB HDD Capacity Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
$490 shipped.
Any opinions ifthis one is better value: HP Pavilion Elite h8-1017cb (QN627AAR#ABA) 27" Desktop PC Intel Core i7 2600S(2.80GHz) 8GB DDR3 1.5TB HDD Capacity AMD Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
$890 shipped but comes with 27" monitor.
Both are refurbished. Do people care about that with computer parts?

Don't mean to confuse you but check this one out. Memory and Hard drive are about half but memory is expandable upto 8GB. Its new and from Dell. (Dell has great customer care, at least it used to)
