the Aria is a 5 star hotel, not a 4 star. Also this deal is very typical, nothing special whatsoever!

I have not stayed there but my wife has. FYI Aria is not a 5 star hotel. I guess you have never been to a five star hotel. I have. Those jerks in Vegas throw stars around. Most of the vegas hotels talk more about their service than their customers. Wynn is one of the better ones, but not 5 star in my opinion. Venetian is a joke.

Reasonable hotel. Not the nicest I've stayed at, but nice. I would agree with others in saying it's not quite a 5 star hotel. It is based on amenities but it seems they minimized everything that made it a 5 star hotel. I've stayed at 4 star hotels that impressed me more.
When I booked, I used Priceline and got a better deal. Just a few warnings, the amount you pay does not include a mandatory spa fee of like $30/night. They will charge you for everything and their mini bar is "you pick it up, it automatically charges you". So don't touch anything in the minibar. (They're nice enough to warn you about it during check in). They also botched up my reservation and accidentally charged me an extra night. Took a while to fix, but they got it fixed. I'm only saying I would have expected more from a 5 star hotel. The price is a good deal, but just don't go expecting to be amazed.

I concur with you on everything you say. I was just listing them as 5* as that what they bill themselves at, and I do REALLY love their beds . I can't compare it accurately, because last time I stayed, they upgraded me to a sky suite with free drinks, and food 24 hours/day in the concierge lobby. That was quite nice, not being dinged every time I wanted a drink or snack.
Does anyone else get a headache from the perfume they pump onto the floor? I like the casino, the tech in the rooms... its got a cool vibe that meshes well with me, but I cant gamble or hang out there because that perfume makes me want to vomit after 5 minutes.

Priceline will get you a better deal, note that Friday and Saturdays will always be more than Sun-Thur...Aria has several things that may be important to some, free wifi, free parking and a free tram that goes to the Monte Carlo and Bellagio...The Monte Carlo has the all day buffet for $32/day (dirt cheap for the strip) and the Bellagio's buffet is generally considered the top #1 or #2 (along with the Wynn) on the strip...Bellagio's buffet lunch is $20, Dinner is $30. Also the Aria itself has a buffet that isn't well liked however unlike other buffets, they don't shut down between lunch and dinner...You pay for the lunch prices up to 4pm and that's the time that the dinner items including crab legs come out. So arrive at 345pm, pay the lunch price and eat crab legs 15mins later...The monte carlo also has a food court which with chain fast food places with somewhat inflated prices but it's cheap compared to other strip options...There is also a Walgreens right across the street connected via pedestrian bridge...Rooms do not have fridges, just minibars fridges that charge you...You can buy a cooler, beer, liquor, wine and all sort food items...There is also across a street Tix4tonight which gets you discounts shows and dinners...Best dinner deal with tix4tonight is the Planet Hollywood Brazilian steakhouse (all you can eat steak including filet Mignon) for $23 before tax & tip...Yet you have to make reservations at the time of purchase.
All depends what you're looking for; for me, I wanted a balance of staying in a five star hotel, but didn't want to pay $7 per beer or $15 for a salad...So I bought a cooler and loaded it up with bought sandwiches, salads & alcohol. Would eat one good meal a day. There are cheaper hotels on the strip but I found this to be a great balance for my needs.

+1... its called pampas and its pretty delicious. Ive been for lunch and dinner, and the lunch selection was pretty lame by comparison.

I think that is their attempt to try and cover up the cigarette smoke.
