Nice post, Sartor.

Warranty is 60 days, btw.

For a TV this large, I think I'll hold out for LED, but very tempting and Vizio, if you don't know, was highly rated by Consumer Reports. For a name that was virtually unknown in the U.S. about 8 years ago, Costco certainly put them on the map!

.

There is another seller that has them for $599 with free shipping: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vizio-E551VA-55-1080p-HD-LCD-Internet-TV-/261041571759?pt=Televisions&hash=item3cc74a47af

Says it is manufacturer referbished; $649 says seller refurbished; seems like a better deal!
90 day warranty

anyone know if costco warranty can be used on a refurb eBay tv?

Do credit card warranties double refurbished warranties?

Title is misleading. Id hardly say because it can connect with Netflix it really shouldnt say w/Netflix. Netflix costs money and it isnt included with the tv.

Anyone with half a brain knows Netflix is a paid service.

well yes, he does not have half a brain like you, most of us have full brains.

Eat your brain? Is the free bath salt included with this deal?

I guess i will put it this way. Has ever in the history of sales has any paid service been given away as part of the deal ? I think YES.
So maybe, just maybe, the title is misleading. Honestly i clicked on this deal to see how long of a Netflix subscription was included in the deal. I was doubtful it was a year. My guess was 6 months.

Ps i do have a half of brain. I already subscribe to Netflix. Besides season 1 of the walking dead i dislike Netflix. My kids however use it all the time.

my 42-inch vizio plasma i bought in march 2006 from costco died on me last month while it's rated for 25000 hours. i can't say i'd be tempted to buy another vizio again seeing that i have no recourse on this one whatsoever. i treated it well and it's even powered by APC battery backup and surge protector so it never had any jolt of bad juice still it died on me.

Thanks I just ordered one for my Dad at father's day. This will be a perfect gift with a Roku.

I've been looking for something in this size range, but after you look for so long, it becomes hard to tell which one to finally jump on. And of course now I'm looking at moving, so I'm not sure I want to buy something and mount it to the wall (my current living room TV is a 32" sitting on a shelf)

The reviews on Costco's site are mostly positive, but then this review says it is good, but not great: http://tv.toptenreviews.com/flat-panel/lcd/vizio/vizio-e551va-re... But that is for the RETAIL price, not this low-priced refurb.

So, if you were in the market for your daily watching TV, fed by comcast HD, viewed from about 13', would you jump on this deal?

Thanks!

no, plenty of last years models that are better brands for about the same, that are not refurbs
