Previous generation.

So what is the big deal, they carries a 1-year Apple warranty, the same as new units and the regular updates too. Matter of fact "NEW IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER" too.

atv3...nice price! While not yet hackable, nice 1080p device for future hacking

I DO have an atv2, and you are super duper wrong...hence me saying "not yet hackable"!

No jb for atv3 so far.

Big deal?? I went through 7 refurbished I phones before they caved and gave me a new one, they are all screwed up in one way or another. And each one had different issues.

If you have that kind of bad experience with "Refurbished stuff", than how come you are posting in this thread, thread clearly says "Factory Refurbished"
Gr8 story though! 7 phones! lol

Give me RED I don't care!

To people who know that there were new Apple products announced (and shipped) TODAY, you are simply "big dealing" the "old generation" nature of the deal, not the "refurbished" nature of the deal. To me, you're really shouting out loud, "Ho-ray! we've got new versions!". Just as yesterday, Amazon had these models listed as "Newest Version". Today, they are listed as "Old Version".

What you did not disclose is that there is NO dvd, cd drive in this computer. Most will buy and find out when its too late.

Well most people who do not do their homework on basic stuff like that before buying a laptop should not blame others for their own stupidity.

Most people think they need an optical drive. Most people are wrong. They come in handy every once in a while, but can definitely be left out of most machines. If you really do need one than this form factor is not for you anyway.

Really great ones! Thank you.

Just wanted to make sure people knew what they were getting into. I personally would wait for some GeekBench scores to compare this previous gen MBA with the new gen, but $1199 for the i7 13" is a pretty decent deal.

Here's a great chart comparing the previous gen and current gen.

FYI, I swapped my optical drive for a SSD + second hard drive about a year and a half ago in my MacBook Pro. I dont miss the optical drive! I put the optical drive into a external USB DVD-RW case for when I need it. Works awesome. I got everything (ssd + optical bay hard drive bracket) from Other World Computing. www.macsales.com

Otherwise, I bought a cheap external Toshiba USB DVDRW for ~$50. I use that on my mac from time to time and have had no issues with it.

What OS version does the MacBook Pro ship with? 10.7?
